Their rivalry was always the weakest right up until season 5 if you ask me. But that might be based upon the fact that they were both just terrible fighters and the choreography was horrible. In season 5 they both took a major leap forward so far as believability is concerned. And I will eat Crow by admitting that right up until season 5. I didn't think they should save Tory but The writers did a great job and I was all in before it was over

Other thought (I forgot to mention it earlier): Remember we saw Tanner, Ralph, Billy, Xolo and Mary together in Barcelona, but Peyton, Oona, Jacob, Gianni etc werent there. So it could be Miyagi-Do is gonna split in two training teams: 1) Miguel, Sam and Robby, trained by Daniel and Johnny. 2) Tory, Devon, Hawk, Demetri (and maybe others), trained by Barnes and Chozen. And in this foto above at 8:30 of Peyton was taken when Mary, Xolo and Tanner were in Barcelona, while Peyton was with Oona, Jacob and Gianni on an other location. Would make sense because of the "balance". So we would have in both teams 1 Miyiagi Sensei (Daniel and Chozen) and one offensive style Sensei (Johnny and Barnes). Sensei Team 1: Daniel and Johnny Sensei Team 2: Barnes and Chozen

Barnes' has two red stripes and a black stripe between them, while the Kim family has only one red stripe, and Peyton's trouser only has one red stripe, young Silver and Kreese did wear it too. But yeah we gonna see :). Maybe Tory will go to CK as you speculate, or Peyton was just joking and wanted to confuse the fans a bit, because it would be a major spoiler way too early.

Awesome video! But if you look at the image of them doing the “capture the flag” stuff - it isn’t just Mitch attacking his own teammate (Anthony). They all are. You’ll have to zoom in and look at their eyes and expressions carefully. Nate is going after Kenny (which is why Miguel is smirking/laughing); Hawk is about to jump Robby; Devon is looking behind herself to make sure no one is going after her; behind Anthony you can make out Tory sneaking up behind Sam; Robby is about to attack Chris. It looks like the exercise will end up being a free-for-all fight.

This series so far has been very good and even had its better moments. But from the first episode of Season 1, Johnny was a buffoon. Having Johnny drinking a beer during one of Daniel's classes was just silly. His unchanged taste in music, movies, and cars is too much. Making Johnny use a public park as a dojo and calling it "Eagle Fang" was making Johnny's buffoonery seem like an old joke. The series could have potentially as good as the movies had there been more heated conversations, arguments, and debates between Johnny and Daniel about karate philosophy and training techniques. When they showed each other their styles of karate, it would have been nice to see more mutual respect. Using hockey to illustrate Johnny's offence approach was a blooper. Hockey games are won with better DEE-fence (and goaltending). Since Daniel was a hockey fan and Miyagi Do is "based solely on defence", hockey should be Daniel's thing as applied to karate. It should be noted though that hockey training resembles more Johnny's approach than Miyagi Do. The two came together, which was good. But more time could have been spent on bringing together conflicting philosophies with arguments, Chozen's deeper knowledge and yes, comic relief.

My prediction for season 6 is that the Mr Miyagi did not beat up or steal the necklace. Since he learned the Miyagi-do way of fighting, it wasn't in his nature to be aggressive unless it was absolutely necessary. Even then, he used minimum force to stop the attack. Something tells me though that Kim is noneother than Keisuke Miyagi. Kim has a very aggressive way of doing things and it is either kill or be killed. So, once Kim (Keisuke Miyagi) beat up the man and stole his necklace, he was basically on the run and decided to go to Korea and teach his style of karate (we see this because in spite of being too young to know, Chozen Toguchi already knows the signature moves of Kims karate) which was very aggressive. Anyway, I'll put that on record, Kim is really Keisuke Miyagi.

The fact that we saw a lot clips from the dojo means the storyline in the first 5 episodes look simple, just about trialing the students and the senseis working together, last seasons were great but I find with too many characters there’s less screen time for the main ones, example in season 4 let’s say with Kenny’s introduction it was good but then we saw less of hawk and demitri in the first 5 episodes, or less scenes in the high school in season 4 or let’s say episode 6 S4 it was almost a full episode of just recruiting girls, why not seeing an episode of Daniel training hawk 1 on 1 for the tournament? Let’s say season 5 it was great but would’ve love to have seen the student’s arc like with chosen arriving, him training the students earlier on in the series and him teaching them more than just the protect the egg technique or seeing more of kreese in prison, like him training himself in prison and looking he’s preparing for something. Here in s6 since they’re mostly all together in the dojo we will see a lot more of every character, it looks simple like I said, focusing on the seinsei’s arcs whil training every student to master their flaws while Kreese will train in Korea, which is great.

Very good breakdown :)! I just googled about Brandon H. Lee. His full name is Brandon Horam Lee, and its cool he shares the same given and family name as the son of one of my idols Bruce Lee, the late Brandon Bruce Lee, who was shot 31 years ago on the set of "The Crow". I am sure you remember that WP. It shocked Hollywood back then. Brandon was just 28 and "The Crow" is a damn cool movie, horror, gothic, gunfights, all together. PS: And even if it's not really important, but I still like to mention it. As you see it with Brandon Horam Lee or the Master Kim actor Charles Seunghee Lee, their Korean given names are "Horam" and "Seunghee". And as you see, in todays recommended and modern romanizations, Korean first/given names should be written together as one word, and if hyphenated, then lowercase, Ho-ram and Seung-hee. But the way how The Big 3 wrote the Korean names, like "Kim Sun-Yung" or "Kim Da-Eun" is old and outdated, because it looks like a double-barrelled name. Kim Sunyung (Sun-yung) or Daeun (Da-eun) is correct. Cheers :)

Excellent breakdown! I have my own theory regarding the sparring match between Miguel and Robby and how it will lead up to the Sekai Taikai. I've noticed the community's skepticism about Miguel’s character arc, particularly his line, “It looks like I’m going to have to beat Robby again.” This makes it seem like he's competing for himself rather than recognizing that he and Robby should be in this together as a team. It also hints at his self-pride, as a more humble approach would be saying, “I’m going to have to fight Robby again,” as a way to expect something from Robby. By not even saying “try,” he seems overconfident based on his past win in Season 5, despite the possibility of Robby making an unexpected comeback, much like Miguel did in Season 5. Robby has also shown confidence, reinforcing this in Season 5 by referencing his victory over Miguel in Season 4. Instead of seeing Robby as an obstacle, Miguel should focus on working with him to better each other as allies striving for the same goal. No matter the outcome, they should expect the best from each other. In the upcoming sparring match between Miguel and Robby, I think Miguel will revert to somewhat of his old ways of putting passion over principle, similar to his behavior in Season 1 at the AVT where he is having that, “I have to win at all costs,” mentality. This fight might serve as a callback to that season, where Robby was robbed of his potential victory due to Hawk injuring his shoulder and Miguel exploiting that injury, placing Robby at an unfair disadvantage. The outcome might result in Robby winning this match, as Jon Hurwitz has hinted that Robby will win a fight whether it’s against Miguel or Cobra Kai’s top student at the Sekai Taikai. I don’t think they would bring back the rivalry to have Miguel win and best Robby again because of how repetitive it gets and would defeat the purpose of Robby’s built up, only to fall flat. It’s possible the fight could end in a tie where both Miguel and Robby earn the title as captain and settle the debate among the community where both Miguel and Robby accept each other as equals. A similar dynamic could apply to Sam and Tory. Sam was robbed of her victory due to the bribe, even though I personally think Tory deserves a win given her constant losses to Sam, which have become repetitive. If Miguel loses, it will likely lead him to realize what he’s truly fighting for and how he shouldn’t put passion over principle. If anything, his loss would serve as valuable lesson to build up his character arc for the Sekai Tekai, where he will take the win and evolve from being a false champion to a true champion, finally achieving balance and completing his character arc that will come full circle. While it would be great for Robby to win the Sekai Taikai, it seems more likely that Miguel will be the one to finish it. This doesn't mean Miguel will be the only one to achieve success; the Sekai Tekai might have more surprises in store for all the characters involved. Regardless of the outcome, it will be fascinating to see how these rivalries evolve and contribute to the overarching story. Let’s hope they do all of our beloved characters justice.

I think the biggest secret of the final season is that, just maybe, Kreese is Johnny's father. On Hurwitz, Schlossberg & Heald's audio commentary for the recent 40th anniversary 4K release of the 1st film, 1 of them said "Kreese is the Darth Vader of the franchise". We shall see!

I was disappointed we didn’t get to see much of John Kreese in the Cobra Kai season six trailer. I was disappointed. I hope they make John Kreese’s story arc more interesting in part 1 of Cobra Kai season six. I know that Cobra Kai season six is coming out in the next three weeks but at the same time, my expectations for the show so far are really low because I don’t know what’s going to happen in the final season and I don’t know how the Cobra Kai creators plan to use John Kreese in part 1 of the final season and how they plan to tell the story in part 1. I hope the story in part 1 is satisfactory. The Cobra Kai writers better not make the story boring by giving us limited screen time with the characters and giving Terry Silver a small role in the final season. I know that the writers want to keep things quiet about the season finale but they could at least give us a little bit more information about what’s going to happen in the final season.

We've now learned that Miyagi Do is capable of killing opponents. So, it's not as weak as it looks or just focuses on defense. I believe that's what the secrets are. With the new Cobra Kai of a South Korean line up, which seems more advanced, surely Miyagi's secrets may be useful fasho.

GREAT cliffhanger to end Part 1. And then Silver experiences a heart attack and collapses right there during their arrest. But I don't think the writers are talented enough to pull off your brilliant idea.
