I personally prefer the blue toy colors over the purple show colors as I had the OG toy as a kid. It's the Ravage that annoys me though. I'm guessing him and Laserbeak are made as one sprue, hence Buzzsaw, but I wish they also redecoed him into a different character like Howlback instead.

They couldn’t give Quake the Battle Masters from Siege at the Deluxe price point. You will remember the Battle Masters having to be sold separately to the Deluxes. The Targetmasters Quake has may be simple but they are G1 accurate and are basically just regular guns with a robot sculptured underneath.

Geocron’s head is based on a rocky alien from the Japanese Headmasters cartoon. You may not recognise it, but it does have a source. The body is the same color as the cartoon character although it didn’t look like Bouldercrash.

This wave so far is great! G1 Optimus is BEAUTIFUL! Oh Primus!! I want him so badly!! Beautiful truck and botmode! Love that he has his Energon Axe and _two_ Ion Blasters! Thats cool! (I can give one to KGDM OP, if I want to) [Deluxe] G1 OP is pretty much an alternate universe G1 OP, so thats really cool and really justifiable to have along with other G1 OPs (e.g. KGDM, VNR, hopefully-soon-to-be-revealed SS86) Slipstream is not 100% ideal, _especially_ accuracy-wise, but at least shes a cool version of the character! Shes in the same boat as Chromia! Easy pickup (Chromia and Slipstream)! I'll definitely headcanon her as being from an entirely different universe from Cyberverse. And, her Null Rays can't mount on the sides of her forearms, but can at least mount on the backs of her forearms or shoulders. Its at least something. Quake is INSANE! Hes almost unrecognizable as using Skullgrin as a base! Hes perfect! Definitely getting him! Great tank and botmode! Geocron's colors are so cool! Their face is a bit weird, tbh. But, its not really a complaint. Not sure if I'll pick them up. Metalhawk is actually pretty cool! I like the gold-ier yellow and the actual grey instead of off white-grey like the original. Not sure if I'll pick him up, but Idk maybe....?? Motormaster is quite cool! Like him! Don't really want him too much, but I've got nothing against him. Soundwave looks quite cool! Love that Rumble, Ravage, and Buzzsaw are included! But, I really don't know if I'll get him; I really don't know. G1 Deluxe Optimus is easily an alternate universe G1 Optimus, so hes very justifiable to have along with other G1 Optimuses, such as KGDM, VNR, hopefully-soon-to-be-revealed SS86, etc.

The rumble has been a very difficult find since core class studio series tend to sell out of pegs very quickly, so it’s mighty appreciated for those who missed out to be able to buy it with Soundwave. I don’t know who Buzzsaw is, but I also genuinely couldn’t tell that was a gold tape until someone pointed it out, so I think I’ll be just fine considering it Laserbeak and calling my tape collection complete with this Soundwave. I’m really hoping to see reissues of Earthrise seekers to get the lineup of comics characters from the current Skybound run.

The only one I'm definitely going to get is the not missing link OP. For being an anniversary year, it's been pretty lackluster for me. I'm not really super excited about too many figures and there are A LOT of repaints. I didn't get Metalhawk the first time around but I might now that he looks better. The only other figures off the top of my head I'm excited about is Gears and the Aerialbots. I might pick up Tidal Wave if I come across him cheap. I got my Trypticon for $50 (USD). I'm also not into that leader class dino combiner guy. It's just not a part of the franchise I'm really familiar with or care about to be honest. So yeah, even most years, I'll want the big ticket items, but not so much this year. And that's fine, I can use that money in other places this year.

I think re-releasing Soundwave was probably for those who missed the netflix one. What I want to see is reissue of the Netflix Bumblebee. I didn't get this one. Release him and Cliffjumper together in a 2-pack and I think that will give people a reason to double dip. Or release Cybertronian-form bumblebee, Netflix Bumblebee and Studio Series 86 bumblebee in a 3-pack and call it the "G1 BB gift pack". He is as iconic as Prime since he was there since the beginning of the war. Re-releases of old figures works if the packaging is good, (collectors have an excuse to re-buy duplicates) and the paint apps are better. It's a way of allowing existing owners to sell their existing figures second hand and letting others fill up the colections of figures they may have missed due to poor distribution in their country. I think Kingdom Optimus Prime should be re-issued again with trailer and...Roller! Perhaps they could upsize him to commander class and add more details than the Kingdom figure? This would be the Studio 1986 version so no shield gimmick. Just place enough space in the trailer so a Roller can fit inside it this time and give him energy axe in place of the shield gimmick of the Kingdom Optimus Prime.

Energon Galvatron - Pass. I wanted this, but as a Leader Class figure. Geocron - I want 6 of these!! This is the one and only rock figure that actually resembles something that was actually in Transformers media. I'm gonna customize these guys so they can combine into the larger rock monster from the Headmasters episode. I will be very surprised if he shelf warms at all. Slipstream - Pass. Once again they've slapped the Cyberverse name onto a figure that looks nothing like the Cyberverse incarnation of the character. If it's going to be such a simplistic repaint, then the least they could do for their own good is call it what it is, "Legends Universe Slipstream". Quake - I'll get because I think I can fix it with some custom parts. This figure does not reflect all that well on the Takara designers. The robot mode is pretty close to what it should be, but that alt mode is mostly terrible. It doesn't even take it's details from the correct model of tank. And the way they put the treads so close together under the tank makes no physical sense since it doesn't leave any space for the top to connect to the chassis. Plus, I continue to be unimpressed by the near useless targetmasters. DLX Optimus - Must have. I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I do considering the size. I dare say I like it more than ML Optimus. Missing Link does a fantastic job of improving the G1 toy. However, Legacy Optimus is even closer to what I imagined a fully realized version of the G1 design could be when I was a kid. And it comes with all of the accessories I could want and more. And to top it all off, I'm pretty sure it scales far better with ER trailer than the actual ER Optimus does. Now I just need a Core Class transforming Roller. I'd also love it if a 3P made an OS KO at least at VOY scale if not bigger. Metalhawk PR - Pass. I already have the original release, and I like that brighter deco better. Animated Motormaster - Pass. I don't collect Animated, and this mould while very good is just a little too Animated for my purposes. Armada Galvatron - Pass. I have no interest in it. In my headcanon Armada Megatron is followed up by Energon Galvatron. Plus, I just don't like the deco. LDR Soundwave - Must have. Would prefer to pass, but honestly the only reason I want it at all is Buzzsaw. The toy deco Frenzy is ok, but I would have preferred Enemy. I really don't like that ravage head, and the mould kinda sucks. I suppose I can use this all black Ravage as "Comics Universe Ravage", but if I keep him, I'll repaint him into another character. Definitely not going to keep Soundwave himself.

The G1 universe Optimus is absolutely the highlight, and I'll definitely get him (barring any distribution shenanigans). I'm also glad to finally get a chance to get the Netflix Soundwave, though part of me is slightly disappointed he IS just a reissue of that mold, given what they were able to do with that new G1 universe Optimus.

Honestly no, you are absolutely right about basically everything. This wave was incredibly lackluster. While I do like how Quake and Sipstream looks, I definitely agree that this wave is just disappointing. Metalhawk absolutely didn’t need to be reissued this early and the fact that Galvatron still doesn’t include any accessories and that Netflix Soundwave is being sold as a leader, I think is ridiculous. With Armada Galvatron it’s kinda whatever, but that Soundwave seriously bugs me, because this is basically a wasted spot for a proper leader Soundwave. They could have done so much with him, like basing him on another universe. Just imagine how awesome a voyager sized TFP Soundwave with leader engineering would have been. And, yeah it’s nice for people who want to get their hands on this specific mould but just look at Blaster and tell me that these guys are in the same league. Honestly I think that around this next year we will maybe see a proper updated G1 Soundwave in the 86 line. Honestly, legacy United started off really strong and followed up even stronger with all the awesome releases in wave 2 but fell of really hard in my personal opinion, excluding Magmatron and Tidalwave of course.

Wouldn't mind getting that Optimus. I thought it was just a repackage of Missing Link Optimus but if it's actually a different mold I'd say it's worth it. Need that Soundwave. The only Soundwave I have is the Core Class one. Would love to have a bigger one to scale with my other figures.
