- My son, Five in March 2024, and I, 41... We love you. We found you because of his love for Super Metroid. What a great Play-through! He can get all the way to Super Missiles with no assistance. And now, he ALWAYS Ball-bombs the Dark Green Space Pirates, instead of wasting a missile. ... All you, pal! I haven't watched this... Because he's asleep, now! But!! I cannot WAIT to blow his imagination out with THIS one!! We've only made it to the Mist Cave, together... Because you keep fighting the same enemy groups Over and Over. He's totally off-put by that, in Turn-based Battles... But this is the video that will bridge the gap. I just know it. I LOVE your format and commentary. Just awesome. I can never Thank you enough... My first exposure to Final Fantasy "II" was at a friend's house in early high school. Another friend had brought over a VHS tape of gameplay. So I sit and watch FF2 here while they're playing D&D. I had played FF1 on the NES so I was intrigued. But I was so impressed by the fact that these were defined characters having dialog with each other, actually portraying blocked dramatic scenes. And the Active Time Battle was mind-blowing. This was also one of my first tastes of SNES graphics. It suffices to say that this made a huge impression on me. Thank you, UCBVG, for covering this!

The NES, Sega, GBA, 3DO, N64, and PSX were the consoles that entered the house in steps from my baby days up to early high school. So, I wouldn't have gotten to know the SNES greats like Chrono Trigger, LoZ:LttP, FF4-6, Super Metroid, and Megaman X1-X3 at all if not for emulators. Of course, my early teen curiosity also had me trying games like Bahamat Lagoon, Fire Emblem, and FF Mystic Quest as well.

So, for that alone, a heartfelt thank you for all of your wonderful effort!! You've put out incredible retrospective type videos while showing people literally EVERY trick in the book for each of these games but you're going to another level (for me) when you talk about Final Fantasy IV. While I have been patiently waiting for your Dragon Warrior IV video since you finished Dragon Warrior III; I would say this is an even better surprise due to my "subjective" love of this game! 😆 As much as I love the early Dragon Warrior games, Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI, my nostalgia for Final Fantasy IV is second to none. I've beaten this game in many different versions and started diving into Romhacks as well but I would bet you will be showing us things we STILL didn't know about. The removal of the Darkness ability in the US version really hurt the Paladin fight. Darkness consumes his HP in order to use it, so in the original the player would know that and just let the Dark Knight drain its own HP with repeated use of Darkness. That aspect is completely lost in the US version.

It is so fun to revisit the old SNES version with all its charm. The pixel remaster with the tedium of grinding for rare monsters and elusive summons for trophies sometimes makes me forget how great this game is.

Although I'd been gaming since Atari, I count this one as my first REAL game experience in general, when I realized just how good they could really be. The music, graphics, atmosphere, the sense of foreboding vibe all combined to form a truly memorable experience that stuck with me for the rest of my life. I've been an atmosphere/vibes-addict ever since in gaming and frankly, it changed my life for the better.

Chrono trigger was much better than FF II. But this FF was definitely in the top ten SNES cartridges.

@@ChromeCobra420 well obviously I'm sharing an opinion about my favorite games...just the like the op was 😅 don't get so upset brother. I mean besides Chrono is still considered one of the best games ever made, and always beats out FF 2 when polls and articles are written.

The one thing that I appreciate most is that, over time, you've developed a sense of humor while giving all this info. Earlier vids were a bit dry but now you're not quite as shy in throwing in a funny quip or two.

@@ChromeCobra420 Maybe the jokes in this video are just landing better for me compared to others. But very early in this channel's life there wasn't quite as much humor as there is in this video. As he's gotten more comfortable by doing this for a bit he's gotten less stilted in his delivery and peppers in more sarcastic humor.

This is my favorite console game of all time (PC game: Counter-Strike). Oematsu captured me for life just a few minutes into the game when I entered the Mist Cave, and it only got better from there (Troia's theme is underrated among all town themes of any game ever). This is a true masterpiece in both gaming and story telling and truly set the stage for everything that came after. There are so many thrilling, fulfilling WOW moments in this game and it never stops until the very end when you face an epic final dungeon with epic hidden super bosses and a final boss fight with all the best music in the game back to back to back until its over. FF IV FOREVER.

I loved this game so much back in the day. I never got to play it on my SNES so I got it on my PS1 when it came bundled with chrono trigger. I never beat it because I got as far as that the one Palom and Porom scene. It was too sad to continue after that as a kid. I wish I did though knowing what I know now, but Tellah would of been painful as well...
