No coin ship?! Nevermind lol. I usually see it on level one and got impatient.

One of my favorite things about this game is that while everyone else changes clothes when they upgrade, the Red Mage is like... Nah. Have you seen me? I'm good.

I have been playing this game since it came out. It is 2024 now I am 50 and it's probably my 18th time but I NEVER got 100% completion until now! WOW I can't believe all the missiles I missed! Also 2 energy tanks and a reserve tank! I think my best was 93% before this! Thank you so much Great job, You are meant for this!! Metroid and Super Metroid are the 2 best games EVER! I love how his movie background inspired him in being a game creator! This is just like being in a movie!

i was asleep while this was playing and i guess i made it to 55:00 until i woke up. anyways i started arguing with you because i thought i was playing and then the whole time there was this guy who was 'teaching' me and i appreciated it and all.. but you wouldn't shut up. in my dream i was like 'oh wow.. thats cool.' to 'ok thanks.. i think i got it..' to 'ok dude..' and then i woke up as you were saying 'all you need is 3 coins to match 3 something and the game ends on an even number and that's that.' and i said 'this guy won't shut up will he?' and started laughing like other people were around or something and that faded into me laughing because i realize i was now awake and i was dreaming but instead i was laughing how matter of fact you made that 'trigger' sound when you need like 5x random things to happen simultaneously. anyways gj i guess

They need to make a movie or tv show where they all wear red, they could do that now and it wouldn’t cause issues like back in the 80s.

I remember getting this game as a kid. It was a blind buy, I'd never played the game before. I saw the box and was entranced at the artwork. Unfortunately for little 10 year old me, I didn't understand the entire thing about the ruby, so I kept picking it up, kept dying, and was never sure what I was doing wrong...until I found out about it recently. xD;

I never found this that hard. I think it was because i didn't have that many games, so I would play my games to death.

This game had no ad campaign unlike the second. I remember going to the video store and seeing there was a new turtles game, renting it and diving into a game with the mechanics of the second game, but way better.

I think the term "nes hard" definitely includes the insane password systems. The system almost exemplifies and explains how things are mistranslated over time. The very worst of a password foul up is mistaking O''s for 0's; that's the letter O for the place holder number 0. Among others. Also, in an age where producing a picture was a week-long process. It's crazy how that changed. We literally have gone from physically recording things to digital. Scary. Are we literally no longer seeing our reality through human eyes and the other physical, senses?

I feel like I've got some serious Mandela Effect. We had this game on my sister's Genesis, but I remember the final boss being Jafar as a giant snake and you were on his back. And you had to wait for the wave of his back to lift you up high enough so you could jump and throw apples at his head.

You have my thanks. I love the old aesthetic and have been enjoying these rereleases of all the old games but one thing I don't miss about them is the batshit insane logic of how to progress at times, I genuinely have no idea how people figured some of this out back in the day short of spending hundreds of hours trying literally everything.

@11:16 "Licensed" but bought by the user, which owned it properly. Tge corporate content "licensing " these days is a coercion scam where you own nothing but a debt a temporary experience, based on tge state of your hardware & ISP, which you also pay. ISP is understandably the service, since it's a utility of stochastic dynamic. But games are packaged releases. I don't subscribe to the current new titles market where you need account profiles, cloud & active internet link to play single player games. I'm out... greedy mofos.
