I remember playing on a table when young where pockets were twice the size of other tables in the club. There were two of them for beginners. For a few frames its fun but after a while u start missing shots like on normal sized pockets.

Utter nonsense. The pockets have not been adjusted since the early 90’s and that’s from the WPBSA itself. The pockets are tight, believe me if you try a championship table.
