Just tested one at BIke Week and it is the first time in a very long time I have been inspired to consider another bike. It really is that good.

Nice review! I’ve put 8k on mine in the last 2 months. The bike isn’t perfect but very good! To really appreciate this bike, you need to shift at 7,500-8,500 rpm’s. There is lots to love on it but there are a few things I don’t. The stereo is like an ultra cheap $49 boom box from the early 80s. The bags are side opening and stupid as hell. The bike doesn’t track straight in the wind and wobbles in turbulent wind coming off semi trucks. The motor is bad ass and like butter though! That’s my honest 8,000 mile review!

I noticed that you rode it only in Dynamic ride mode. I ride mine in the Road setting and it is so much more plush and smooth riding. It really absorbs the bumps. Dynamic mode is more for sport riding and in the corners. It handles like a sport bike. I haven't noticed any problems in dirty air like some complain about. It's the perfect bike for me.

My next bike is that same bike. I have the 2015, k1300s bmw sport touring bike, n they stopped making them n 2016. I just hit 82k miles last week. I've been to Sturgis 4 times n Wisconsin, where I'm from once on it n 2016 after Sturgis. This year, I went to Sturgis n made it n 1 day, 1,350 miles non-stop, just for food n gas, lol .. Where thick padded shorts for long distance like the road bikers where, save ur butt, lol .. They have that same bike at Sturgis Bmw with 170 hp n sounds Amazing, as they suped it up. KZbin - 1600 bmw bagger with Remus pipes. Remus pipes look much better on bike. Take the baffles out of muffler n really sounds like a formula one car, very cool! That midnight color looks Amazing n the sun. I highly recommend this bike to anyone if u want the best overall bike for the price. I've watched videos on KZbin of guys who have 50k - 100k Harleys n now go to the bagger n say Way better bike overall. Bmw - (B) est (M) otorcycle n the (W) orld - Bar None! 😊

I certainly wouldn't mind one in the stable for crushing miles on long trips. We've heard a few with exhaust and you're right about the formula one sound. Thanks for watching. Keep your eyes out, we have a different BMW video coming out next.

You can also set the suspension softer in Dynamic mode if you go kinda deep in the menus. Bit of a pain, as there isn’t a way to save that setting either AFAIK, but still nice to be able to do. I prefer the softer suspension setting, but find Road mode’s throttle response to be too slow for my liking.

I own a 21 K1600B. This bike is awesome. I have Bren Tuned mine so it's making about 20 extra horses but the throttle lag is gone. Highway riding you put that thing into two up suspension mode so it's stiff as can be and then ride on. These things are awesome.
@thollingsworth49104 ай бұрын
With the bren tune that i chose, i kept the factory rev limiter. The tune does away with speed limiter. 3rd gear wound out will get you to 120 mph, and you still have 3 more gears.

picked up a 2021 K1600 2 weeks ago with only 450 miles on it, have put 200 on it since, very smooth, definitely feels side winds, traded my 22 Rocket 3 GT with 10k on it for it, also have a 19 Speedmaster, both of those have forward controls which I like, getting used to the mids on the BMW, also a different matter when you're a 68 yo, not complaining, love the bike..

Just bought a 2024 B...love everything but the windshield. Turbulence when fully up hits you square in the face and creates noise. That turbulence will pull sunglasses off your face if you go without a helmet. Radio sucks, but I don't listen while riding anyway. Not as agile as the R1250RS Sport (last bike), but I'm a big fat guy and look stupid on a Sport-type bike. The engine and transmission on this thing is truly amazing.

Looking to buy one any issues with wobble
@jfal104Ай бұрын
@@JoeFurtado-xv5no None at all. The bike "prefers to turn", if you know what I mean. Slightest bar pressure and it wants to turn, but absolutely no wobble with mine. All BMW dealers offer test rides, I think. Definitely do it...

I have the 2020 K1600GT, basically the same engine as this K1600 B. It's my 3rd K1600 since they came out and I really enjoy them. The ride is great, the power is really impressive and for long distance type riding, it's perfect with a Russell Day Long seat (stock seat really leaves a lot to be desired). Cruising along on the interstate and drop it into 4th to pass or get out of some nutty cars way, the acceleration on such a big bike is addictive. Plus having the quick shift on the '20 makes it that much quicker. Overall, for my type of riding it's one that I'll stick with. Definitely worth a test drive if you haven't ridden one yet.
@3_AM Жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching. How has the cost of maintenance and reliability been over the years ?
@fyrefitrt2 Жыл бұрын
I do my own oil changes and final drive fluid changes so the cost is basically for oil/filter/fluid. There's an 18k valve maintenance that's a little pricey, but other than that and tires every 5k or so, it's not bad at all. Reliability has been great. No issues.@@3_AM

Before you get one, please ride the new Goldwing, 6 speeds or DCT, or both. I have owned 2 k's and one of them was new. Sold them after 2 years. I own a new wing DCT. Will not ride anything else. No more K for me. Maybe....I mean, maybe will test ride the new 1300RT which will come out out soon enough, by next year. I am a tall, big guy and the wing is a magical machine on all levels. The K's can be very finicky as they age and you better have a dealer by you. I was very disappointed with the GA. I wanted to love it, I couldn't. Good luck.

We've been wanting to get on Goldwing demos for years. But because of Honda's popularity and they way they organize demo rides, its nearly impossible to schedule one.

I've checked out these BMW Baggers since they came out. They are everything you said as well as a nightmare. Its a bike for a rider that is willing to take it to and pay at the dealer for every single bit of maintenance and repair it's going to need(and just wait until that valve check comes due 😐)... Its engineering is too complex for the normal man and not known for reliability...

You’re not wrong , we had the same conversation after he rode it . Service is $$$$ for the miles we do

@@3_AM .. I steer clear of the BMWs
@jamesgrant Жыл бұрын
That's simply untrue. I can do most of the work myself aside from valves. I've had mine for 4 years, 36,000 miles, and it's been trouble-free. It's been on everything from the super slab freeway to small gravel roads, with the only issue being running hot when going slow. The answer is obviously to keep the speed up. The service with the valve check is just under $1k, which is a lot, but considering the cost of the bike, it's not terrible.

A tour guide?!? WTH BMW 🤮 was there on the last Saturday at 8:30am. Indian let us go. Super nice group at Indian. Sport chief was a blast. After trying out three bikes we went to Harley. Longer sign in process and longer lines. But the broke the bikes up into categories which was nice. That breakout was a beast. On that second road with the dangerous drain cover I hit 75-80mph when saw a cop sitting there. Oh damn 😞 but he flashed his lights and let us keep going. Did not try any BMWs but there wasn’t much action for them. But next year I will try some. Was leaving towards an Indian but this K1600 makes me pause 🤔

I've had mine since 2018 I've no complaints you could do 1000 miles in a day easy (GTL version copy of the one in my avatar) good mpg, quick shifter works a treat the side panniers will take any helmet the top box you have to be careful some style of helmets like my Aria Tour 3 will go in and the lid will close but getting it open again might be an issue so rule of thumb if the lid wont go down but you could if you push down a little dont as it will end up with the helmet pushing against the lid and you might have a issue getting the lid open but as I say the side panniers will take any helmet Im a 59/60cm size just for reference, the wind deflectors work great in hot weather directing air at your chest, running costs, well, having looked at the new Goldwing and the intervals for various maintenance the BMW would be the cheaper option if there is such a thing with vehicles these days the only thing that sucks is the sound system but I don't use it other than blue toothing everything through the satnav I also had to go with a taller screen Im 5'11 as I was getting buffeting even when it was in the full up positions and in finishing the engine sound is to die for

I would say not really in the same class. The bmw is more of a sport touring faste more nimble in an upright position. Harley is more a heavy cruiser slower and heavy but equally as comfortable.
