I recently jumped into the Sony World. I got a ZV-1F and its been a heck of a learning experience but really enjoy being able to do a little bit of vlogging but its been awesome to use as a POV cam when I photograph sports.

As a photographer, when a friend asks me what camera to get for 5 years there has only been one answer. Sony RX10IV. 1” sensor with a lens that can go from 24mm-600mm, shoots 4K video and can even do macro and crazy high frame rates. No need to buy other lenses. $1700 and done. Best travel camera when paired with some Peak Design/Ulanzi Gear. 3 friends have picked them up and love them. No idea why it’s taking Sony so long to make a Version 5.

The footage from the quad looks cleaner, the sky isn't blown out like what's coming out of the ZV-E1 when you're vloging, Is it an Action 2 or a Gopro? There is also a scene where the focus tracks all over the place, because there are three heads in the shot. This is just another average camera. (Mind you Sony and Canon make a lot of expensive average cameras).

was going for the a7siii but now I decided that I'll go for the ZV-E1 I don't really use Raw 12 bit so just a monitor with internal settings is enough, overheating won't be an issue to me as well :p only downside imo is the lack of mechanical shutter :( because I do take a few pictures every now and then..

Gene sent his body harder than i send my fpv drone. what a G! Bro what are your thoughts on flying this camera with fpv in terms of image quality vs bmpcc and komodo? both of which are heavier. bmpcc 4k being 650g and komodo being 950g. the zv-e1 is at 400g which is the weight of a naked bmpcc.

I think it will blow the quality of the video by color grading. HDR10+, dolby vision, hdr vivid will give a thousand times better results, but the real question is how much does youtube support this, I think youtube should pay more attention to hdr and similar technologies.

HDR tech is still broken. On Mac the same Dolby vision video don’t even look the same in QuickTime, Resolve, premier pro, and Final Cut

@@mannytroll9572 for vlogging alone, this is the best option, in my view. It just isn’t ideal for longer format recording. If I didn’t need a camera that’s good for occasional multi hour streaming and recording, this would be my next camera. The only other issue for me is the micro-HDMI port. I hate those so add full size HDMI and better cooling then I’d be all over this. Till then, my second FX3 just arrived which is a phenomenal camera. The funny thing is, the newest firmware 3.0 dropped the night that I ordered it:)
