I wanted to let you know that I have been doing paracord for ten years but I didn’t know how to do a one size fits all style that stayed tight. This video you made helped me make 59 paracord bracelets for grieving police officers and firefighters for the city of Burnsville Minnesota USA. A week ago two police officers and firefighters were shot and killed. I used your video to make those bracelets for them. I used black as the base and red and blue center stripe. I’d love to send you the final product before I deliver them. I wanted to say thank you for this video.

Using a prusik knot to improve the closure is absolutely ingenious! It's so easy once you know the solution. Thanks a lot!

I just did this in fifteen minutes and it’s turned out perfectly. Thank you for this no bullshit tutorial. You can very simply tuck the tail end back under your prusik hitch and it snugs up really nicely, meaning you have no loose ends.

Wow this knot is so cool. I’m glad I found it. You actually don’t have to use two separate pieces of cord. If you put two scrap strands of paracord as a placeholder, you can braid all the way to the end and just thread the cord through one at a time with a needle while removing the placeholders. I made a quick deploy Blaze bar with one piece on cord. 🤙🏻
@Fuzzcatt1989
@Fuzzcatt1989 Жыл бұрын
Hey @JonathonS1987 , I know this comment is nearly 4 years old, but could you possibly elaborate on what you mean? I gather I would have a prusik with two scrap bits, followed by two long strands for weaving onto, how would I not have to attach another piece and instead use the two long strands to be both the core and the weave? As I see it, I'd have a prusik and a two strand core, but can see how I start a weave without adding another bit of paracord.
@JonathanS1987
@JonathanS1987 Жыл бұрын
@@Fuzzcatt1989 Check out this video at about 1:10. It’s really helpful if you have a jig. Just pretend the fire starter is the prusick knot, thread through a ring that comes apart or a piece of tied paracord, anything you can as long as you can remove it when you are done. Then just start the knot at the top as seen in the video. Braid down close to the bottom and i think i have one knot to bring the strings closer together. Then thread the ends through the prusik one a time. Adjust to your size and knot of the other side. With this specific quick deploy pattern all you have to do is u do the knot pull it through the prusik and push the braids away from the prusik knot and they slide off like well cooked meat on a bone. I think i used 14 feet of cord my first time and this pattern bracelet is pretty thick so you may need some trial and error on sizing. kzbin.info/www/bejne/r2m1nJ9spNubnpYsi=n-xpgKA-wdfoLS9T The video is titled a survival firestarter that deploys in seconds by the weavers of eternity

Good Day and Thank You 'WhyKnot,' A very well made and too the point instructional video that is very easy to follow. I am a Disabled War Vet, Retired U.S. Marine, and have just embarked on this Paracord hobby. I was hoping to start off by learning how to do basic knots in hopes that I would soon be able to make my 'Vietnam Bracelet,' I have called it that, because I found some Vietnam colored cord which is very bright, and looks real nice. Any suggestions that you might have as to the particular style of bracelet and how to make it would be nice, and greatly appreciated. The 'Celtic Bar Bracelet' is very attractive, but this one that you have shown us how to make is very nice as well. Thank you once again. Take care and GOD Bless!! SuperSniperSal

I really like this prusik closure system. It looks like it fits this design very well. I just have negative feelings when it comes to a bracelet with dangly end(s). Annoying as hell most times, and they get caught on "everything" UPDATE: I have been wearing this bracelet with the prusik weave for about 6 months now. I've gotten used to the dangly bits. Just got a compliment on it yesterday. The guy asked me where I bought it. I said, "I made it." He was impressed. 😂

Connie Beaudoin The rule of thumb is one foot of cord for every inch of finished bracelet size, i.e. an 8" bracelet would take about 8' of cord. Note the more complicated the weave the more cord will be used, but this is a good place to start.
