I've been watching these tutorials for a few weeks now, and after tying, and untying, this bracelet multiple times, mainly due to sizing, I'm now proud to say I can do the cobra stitch without much though. WOO!!!

Thanks for the tutorial. I used this to make an adjustable lanyard for one of my fighting knives. Instead of tying a knot on the end, I put it through the lanyard hole then tied the knot. It works perfect!!

I have NEVER made a bracelet. Your video popped up in my Facebook feed. Watched it. Bought cord and made one. It looks pretty good for my first attempt. Had to start over went with 8 inches in the beginning. 7 was the right size. Thank you made it easy for a beginner.

Finding paracord around here isn't easy. Sure, you can order on the net but I'm an oldtimer. Been interested in these bracelets for a long time and finally I found a seller with cords that I could look and feel at. I chose mil green 5mm and made a bracelet according to your specifications, which I find superior to others since it requires only paracord and does what its supposed to. Proudly wearing it now and couldn't be happier. Thank you!

+Thereisnosp00000n I get most of mine from military surplus stores, but there are two bases within an hour of me so YMMV. Of course they aren't going to stock the more exotic colors, but it's nice to just be able to go out and pick some up when you want it without having to wait for it to be shipped. I definitely get you there.

When I made those small loops in the beginning they were a bit too loose for me and my bracelet kept opening and almost falling off, I dipped that end in boiling water and it shrunk the end up a bit and now it fits great and doesn't fall open. Thanks for the tutorial!

I love this design. When I did this one, I put a skull bead at the end of my loop. It kinda hides the strands coming from the weave going through the loop before going through the two small loops at the other end. Looks awesome. What's better, no worries when out in the woods if that plastic buckle might fail.

I made one and like it but, after I tighten it on my wrist it very quickly loosens itself. It doesn't fall off but it's irritating to have it move up and down my arm after just tightening it. Any solution for this? I've thought about using a rubber band after tightening it, but it probably won't look great and will make it more difficult to remove. Thanks.
@TheWeaversofEternity
@TheWeaversofEternity 9 жыл бұрын
Jtmurter I'd say that you should redo it. But this time make the loops where you feed the paracord through smaller. That way it won't loosen so easily.

Can you make a military Marine corps bracelet. My fellow Marines and I would really enjoy that. I would like it to be an adjustable mad max style bracelet, that comes apart fast. It would be a major part to our load out. Thanks. It would also be cool if your added hex nuts in. I've commissioned a couple of people but none have been just right i think you could do it.

Aloha, Tim...I'm glad you put up the tutorial. I would just point out that the bracelet looked tan because of the desert dust on it. Someone said it is actually "foliage green". I'm using OD green, mainly, but am doing some hot pink Mad Max-ine bracelets, as well. : ) I thought the knot was a Matthew Walker knot, but a double overhand makes sense. I'm still in love with your style and your "background" (the mat, Buddha, etc.), Thanks so much for the time you spend creating your clearly presented, informative tutorials.

I pause the video at every segment i dont understand or thought went to quick for me to comprehend what i was seeing. I believe the hardest part was the beginning loops at the top and the second loop to begin the actual bracelet portion. But i saw that when you are doing the repetitive tying from one side to the other i would forget what strand was supposed to bend to the other side. I figured that the strand that points to the rear goes in front and to the other side. Once there the other strand lays on top of it bends underneath it and goes behind the bracelet and thru the loop created by the strand that was pointing to the rear. Then tighten it. Basically making a sloppy sideways figure 8 continously all the way down. Hope how i saw it helps you.

How do you keep the "core" strands of a 2-strand diamond knot from twisting toward each other? Whenever I make a knot-and-loop closure for a bracelet, where the core strands stick out from the main weave before the diamond knot starts, once I tighten the diamond knot the two strands always have a tendency to twist toward each other and almost cross over. How do I keep them straight?
@TheWeaversofEternity

+DarkSeraph351 Hmm... make sure they're not too twisted or crossed over before you tighten the knot.

the style seems a bit dodgy. does the thing actually stay tight or do you constantly have to pull the knot to cinch it up to your wrist?

Don't you end up with a knot and paracord flapping around your wrist? Is that annoying in any way? Great video, thanks for making it.

If you know how to do so, could you show us how to do an adjustable trilobite version?

Question: Does the part of the bracelet that dangles after you close it bother people? I'm wondering if you pulled the tails under instead of over, and just fused the ends together instead of knotting then. Then the "tail" would be hidden under the bracelet, and since they're single strand they might not be a bother. What ya think?

I'd say it's up to the individual to pick a style that they like. I think part of the allure of this style is to have the little dangling portion. Many paracord bracelets they sell, even if it doesn't have a dangling part in construction, have some sort of charm or something added after for style. I personally like it. It just kinda sticks out in a low angle and never really messes with anything except for maybe if I pull a long sleeve down (but even then, the part that sticks out can help keep the bracelet from getting hidden under your sleeve!). I can understand not liking it, in that case I'd probably opt for another style of closure. The method you mentioned may work but I think it'd feel bothersome and look bulky if tucked under.
