I have a slip joint from Italy, made in a small town by a hundreds year old knife family. It is insane.

The spring tension from a Manly Wasp is not far off from the Boker. It’s pretty stiff. And you can spine whack it a couple of times without it closing

Hello G., The ease of folding is one reason why I don't like non locking folders. Hey, you know what Murphy's Law is right? Well I've dealt with that all my life, so much so that I know if Murphy hadn't gotten there first I know that they'd have called it "Randy's Law" by now... Just say'n. Be safe and take care, " God Bless", sincerely, Randy. 😇🙏👊

All modern slip joints should have choils, and more ways to stop the blade closing. Back spring and ball detents. Guards, tangs (like a friction folder.) A combination of these would be amazing. Stops at each quarter. There are ones out there that are one handed opening but two handed closing, just because the tension created when opened makes it two handed to close. But make one and two handed openers for options. And maybe even versions with weak openings, or make the tension adjustable. Deep carry clips (ambi.) definitely for crappy countries to make it as discreet as possible. And make the clips none reflective/ dark too. And maybe the scales darker to blend into peoples pockets. I think the PITS has the best system. This Boker is good, just I would modify it by grinding a choil in to its blade, and add a thumbstud. The Sog Terminus is pretty good too, it had ball detents to keep it open (and it’s strong.) Would be cool to see a version with detents and a back spring.

I have a few old school style slip joints from case etc but I’ve never been a huge fan of a folder without a locking mechanism. I’m happy to say switchblades are legal in Massachusetts now 😊. I can edc the other half of my collection now yeah 👏🏻.

How does the spyderco UK pen knife compare? This seems like another decent option for a knife for traveling in the UK.

Yeah, never used it, so I can’t speak to its strength of lockup but very slice

I have the uk pen knife in magnacut, easy to open and close, but if you keep a finger on the choil if it breaks the detent your finger will stop it.

That's gotta be required carry wherever locking blades are illegal. I would think the clip would ride deeper for more discreet carry in places that check for compliance when noticed.

@bigzach322Ай бұрын
@gideonstactical They both come with excellent steel choices, which puts them ahead of many other slipjoints. The unique thing about the Lil Native is that it is just under 2.5 inches, so it is legal almost everywhere. Including many federal facilities like the one I work in.

@eyeofthetiger4184Ай бұрын
G'day Aaron, to be honest I didnt know locking was a legal bone of contention in some parts, I thought it was always blade length and auto/assisted. Regardless, I like the design for a little fella and 440C is underrated IMO. Perhaps one that Victorinox could consider as an inexpensive upgrade. Cheers Duke.

Boker xs is the best and safest slip joint. Period..
@kylethedalekАй бұрын
Not overly? The originals had the strongest springs. But the issues with them now is weaker springs and updates on laws and definitions. The XS blade is larger than 3”. Meaning you can’t carry it now in some places.
@genuinelyconcerned3504Ай бұрын
@@kylethedalek it has nothing to do with the springs, it's the best and safest because it has a generous finger choil that prevents the knife from closing during use. Boker xs or the rose craft clinch river for the win. 💪
@kylethedalekАй бұрын
@@genuinelyconcerned3504 Well the spring stops the choil crushing your finger? So it kind of does. I would rather the spring takes as much pressure as possible before my finger does. But I agree I think choils are very important if I got that knife I would grind a choil in the blade.
@genuinelyconcerned3504Ай бұрын
@@kylethedalek agreed. I really think a choil is a must on any slip joint intended for actual work or hard use.

We say it over and over. Dont buy boker .. Ever
@tonimacaroni5305Ай бұрын
Why
@ExhumedTornadoАй бұрын
Who is we? Everyone can buy what ever they want to buy. Cheap knifes from china or handmade custom knifes. Everyone has different requirements for a knife. If you dont like Böker, dont buy it. So simple. Sure, Böker has some quality problems in there knife lineup but that doesn't mean everything they made is trash. You can buy a Benchmade knife for way more money and get the same quality issues. What does that tell you?
