I just want to say you provide such positive and motivational confidence that I need to get through the day at times. I did not receive high marks in high school and had zero confidence in myself when it came to academics back then. I felt that it wasn't for me and that left me with dropping out after my first year in college and just working odd jobs. I did okay for myself but a couple years ago I decided to go back to school and finally pursue my Masters degree in Library Science, starting from scratch essentially at a community college. I waited so many years and after a while used the excuse of "being too old" to go back to college. Now, I am 30 years old and on my way to transferring to University next year to finish my Bachelor's and finally on to my Master's. There are definitely days where I feel exhausted and second guess going back at such an older age but I watch your vlogs along with other you-tubers on their love for academics and it reminds be that academia doesn't care about age. Thanks for your efforts and content, it's inspiring!

An iPad related video I'd love to see is how you potentially combine goodnotes/notability with a citation manager like zotero/mendeley/endnote, if you use the latter. I want to organize my PDFs really well for future use but also want to use GoodNotes to take notes on them and haven't quite figured out the best workflow for taking notes on PDFs and also keeping them organized in Zotero or something similar for future reference. Would love to know your thoughts if you've got a nice system down! Big congrats on starting your PhD. I started last week as well - so exciting!

I know this might be controversial but do you think you could make a video about the Jessica Krug situation, especially how it is to be a white student in African American studies, and how that plays out in academia? I thought it would be interesting to hear your perspective.

Thank you for the suggestion. As a mixed-race, white passing academic, I don’t necessarily feel that it is my place to comment. The academic community is rightfully outraged and I have my thoughts but this is something that directly impacts my Black and Latinx colleagues and I just feel it’s them who deserve to be listened to at this moment. I really appreciate that you want to hear my perspective though! 💕

I was wondering what kind of laptop you are using or planning on using throughout your PhD journey? (My new Dell Inspiron completely died today and windows 10 was an absolute nightmare on it 😭 I completely had a mental breakdown because of the issues I was having with it, I couldn’t even run google chrome on it and Microsoft edge stopped working completely. I am petrified to buy another PC)

Leibnizth M I have my Mac desktop, which I rely on now for most of my work! I have a 2016 MacBook Pro laptop which I used throughout my time at Oxford but with video editing, it was struggling. I love Apple products personally but I don’t have to use any software which would require a pc. Many people in my cohort use a chrome book or Mac 😊
