Just got it, thank you!! And I grabbed the crocheted summer top too. I'm excited to try it. I'm definitely going out of my comfort zone lately. At this moment I'm crocheting the jacket you did for your birthday, back piece is worked, just started the front panels. My yarn is different, light 3 weight so I had to adjust, but thanks to you sweet lady, I'm figuring it out. ❤❤❤❤

Perfect for us "hookers" in South Africa where they switch our electricity off every day 😤Loadshedding is 2 to 2.5 hours at a time, sometimes 3 x in a 12 hour period. And out here on the farm we sometimes have power outtages for one to two days at a time. So I always try to have a printed pattern.

I just remembered something ….. In one of the vintage Weldon books, there is a pattern for a knitted coffee filter. Did you mention one time that you had made it, and tried to make a pot of coffee, with a disappointing result? Perhaps coffee beans, currently, are more finely ground that what they would have been during the Victorian era? In the early 1960’s, I remember each grocery check-out line had a coffee grinder. The customer would buy a bag of preferred brand of coffee beans and the cashier would ask the customer how fine the beans should be ground.

Oh, I'm sorry , I don't think that was me , I'm not familiar with that and we don't have a coffee pot, we use the pods, but that sounds super interesting!!

I believe it was Engineering Knits who made the coffee filter.

@@justvintagecrochet thank you for your reply. I couldn’t remember who talked about that pattern. I have enjoyed all your videos, and have purchased a couple of the books you work from . (Amazon is a good source) The Weldon books are treasures.

@@Chifaire thank you!!!! It has been driving me crazy trying to remember who talked about it in their videos. I had a mental picture of a young Victorian-era girl working on a new filter for the family coffee pot. It would help develop her needlework skills, and be a useful item when it was completed. Thank you again. Off to find the video…….

I was just on Etsy poking around for a bell gauge when I saw you had this guide up! 😉 BTW do you happen to know if sewing threads are comparable to the crocheting threads? My neice gave me two craft boxes of what looked to be what I thought were sewing threads, but now am wondering if maybe some were crocheting threads. Just curious. ❤
