On row 2 you started wrong. You chained 1 not 2 as per pattern.

Depending how old it is... If old enough, could it have been used to make wire bag straps/handles or wallet /watch chain? If you were poor & couldn't afford gold or silver a person could have used it to create her own out of a less expensive wire or scraps. & in those days there was no "dead soft or 1/4, 1/2 hardness" wasn't really a thing in everyday wire. Sooo I'm thinking a loveing husband or father made this so their spouse could make something similar to a more affluent Ladies. 😁 At least that's the story I see in my head when looking at that hook.😂😂

I was super happy when you mentioned Annies Attic and crochet on the double! I want soooo much learn to crochet on the double on 3 or four hooks to make this awsome sock pattern! Could you pretty please show me?❤

Mary Middleton showed crochetknit doing it with a Tunisian needle. The needle has a double side hook, so you can make various items. She is dead now. Nettie

Does anyone have any advice for tension, I’m trying this on the AL10 with the 1.5 and starting on the third row of the rose it seems too tight and it doesn’t want to lay flat, I’ve tried being a little looser but then the petals don’t lay nice and flat. Should I try a hook that’s slightly bigger?

Would be good for credit cards too.

how does the sizing for this work? It didn't fit me even though I wear small for dresses and tops; sometimes I even wear XS.

Made similar pat 50 yrs ago except start by making first row of pc with pc on two of the four sides. Then increase pcorns ea row same way. When you stitch them tog., each pc'd diamond shape formed has alternating pcorns instead of lining up. (Match the 5 pc side to the 4 pc side when stitching tog to form your blanket.)

I would say it's chunky looking because of the size of the hook/needle and weight of the yarn, not necessarily because of the technique, since it's literally just knitting.

I enjoy the 'failures'. It's entertaining, reassuring to me as a still-learning crocheter, and it's also good for learning problem-solving. I'm thinking your son is purposely picking the worst patterns to troll you and I love it.

That would be pretty made out of jute.
