There is a setting (“type hints” IIRC) that shows if a move will be super or not very effective and by how much. I highly recommend you turn it on if you are struggling with the type chart.

I beat the game on my 30th attempt, and now i'm trying a solo Cyndaquil (yes he can evolve) run because he's cool. I've seen a few solo runs but it's so hard to actually strategize late game haha

There is a option in setting that let's you retry runs if you activate the rentry setting whenever you lose your run it asks if you want to retry the battle this helps because you can learn what actions to do to win

I feel like there is something wrong in PokeRogues calculations when it comes to hit accuracy. I've been hit with Horn Drill 3 times in a row, and there are times when 95% move will miss 4 times in a row. I know it's unlikely this happens, but that it can happen... but that unlikely accuracy shenanigans happens several times over multiple runs tells me the accuracy math is somewhat flawed. Love the game none the less.

PokeRogue is more like a roguelike while Emerald Rogue is more like Pokemon. IMO Emerald Rogue is better (especially now that 2.0 is out) BUT PokeRogue has a more fast paced gameplay loop and allows for more crazy builds as opposed to EmRog which mostly doesn't allow you to do anything you could've do in Pokemon normally as far as your team is concerned.

Damn, fusing absol and gyarados. The dream... You probably already know, but I guess on the off chance you or someone in comments doesn't, there's a setting they added that lets you retry fights if you lose, and another that shows type matchups. Turns some trainer bosses into rng puzzle fights. It's still possible to hit a wall for various reasons, but reduces losing a run to bad luck or a dumb mistake. (Unless the dumb mistake was forgetting to heal. It won't save you from that one.) That mega rayquaza is a nightmare if you don't have a specific counter, or if the rival has something to swap into that counters you. Or five things. Infuriating.

I never used zigagoon until I beated the game like three times and instead used a baddy bad umbreon that has covet and weakened down the enemy with intimidate if they were physical and just slowly stole all of their items
