Congrats my dude, i think this game is going to be a lot of fun in January. Also heads up you get a morale bonus if you activate the flanking charges (Sun Jian or Liu Bei) manually by charging with them instead of waiting for it to go off Edit: The reason you were not getting your parry abilities to activate in the Lu Bu fight was because you didn't have enough bravery (the circles above your health bar). Each ability requires a different amount of circles

On that final battle where you finish Lu Bu it wasn't until you won that I realized I'd stopped breathing during the final 30 or so seconds of the fight. Was on pins and needles waiting for it. Bravo!

After watching some more of the DW: Origins gameplay, I noticed that the Formation system looks somewhat familiar in scope. I checked and played again DW:8 Xtreme Legends out of reminiscence, and noticed that Chen Gong’s weapon, the Bamboo Scroll, is capable of commanding Allied Mooks based on his Attack Combo. Normally, if alone, his weapon only spawns a soldier based on which Attack Combo he ends with. From memory, his weapon can command Archers (First Heavy and Special), Swords (First and Second Normal), Spears (Third and Fourth Normal), and Spears and Shields (Fifth). I haven’t tested his Switch Weapon if it controls Cavalry though) Just interesting to see how the Formations thing reminds me of Chen Gongs weapon mechanic, is all.

Addendum: Apparently, this is not the first time that Koei/Omega Force has the Formation System of some kind. Bladestorm has one long before the game, apparently, and according to Dynasty Warriors Reddit

Congrats on the victory over Lu Bu, and good luck with the guandao! I love the weapon, but it's the one that clicks with me the least. But yeah, it feels incredibly satisfy to learn the dodge timers and what you can/can't block in Lu Bu's moveset and then using that knowledge to finally beat him. I can't wait for the full game's release.

Good lord. Killing him took more tries than i'd care to admit. I do hope the situation with him is not the same as the demo. I havent played any of these in quite a while but my memory tells me he was always not required to finish a stage.

Do we know if you will be able to customize the main character in any way appearance wise? I feel like this would have been the perfect time to make better use of the character creator Dynasty Warriors always had and yet we seem to be stuck with John Dynasty Warrior

@@schlootle you can not customise the character. The character has amnesia and so has no name but it is confirmed that they are an established person within three kingdoms that will have their identity revealed through the story i believe
