This has to be one of the most amusing XG Left Right reactions I've seen. gigii - These lyrics look boring to me, she says dismissively. Starts MV ... in 3...2...1 Proceeds to go through all the stages of emotional confusion. gigii - What kind of late 90s early 2000s BS is this The descent was quick and the immediate Jurin bias had me rolling. "Girl stop. Girl put that away? Who is she?" gigii - I don't know if I like the song or just the group, because it's really not my vibe... For Purple Kiss the members are as follows: Blonde hair = Swan Purple hair = Chaein Silver hair = GoEun Dark hair w/ bangs = Dosie Dark wavy hair = Yuki Brown hair = Ireh The MV has a lot of references to The Shining. In this movie the word 'redrum' is written in places and is 'murder' backward. They use this for 'rilas' which is written several places and is actually 'salir'- get out/to leave. The number 315 on the hotel room and key is in reference to their debut date 3/15. Hope this helps and thank you for the reaction!

The Boyz have always been considered to be EXO's little brothers because a lot of staff in their company came from SM Entertainment. They've also covered some of EXO's tracks before - Love Me Right , Call Me Baby, and a remake of Monster for a stage on MNet's "Kingdom" series. Even their choreographer since 2020 - Mihawk - works with SM artists, as well. The Boyz are under a small company but are reminiscent of SM artists in terms of talent - a focus on powerful vocals and clean, synchronized dance moves. As someone that loves EXO, I'm always really proud when people say The Boyz (my ult group) are reminiscent of them. A lot of their tracks sound like EXO could have sang it, as well. I honestly love it since EXO are incredibly talented.

The EXO vibes are plentiful with TBZ and they're rightful so as this is composed by Kenzie who wrote Obssession, Monster and pretty much consolidated the EXO sound if you will, as well as DEEZ and more SM linked producers. Plus, Mihawk (famously known as EXO's father) has been their choreographer since 2020. We even have a joke amongst deobis that TBZ are a secret SM group bc of all those elements, but at the end of the day you can have the ingredients and the recipe and still not deliver, so that's what makes them shine bc they always deliver! TBZ is (and has been!) excellent in their craft but they are unfortunately overlooked for whatever reason. They have the best sinchronicity in their gen, the most stunning and entertaining choreos, some of the most incredible b-sides in the newest generation and they're all so well rounded and talented (all of the members have writing creds and have vocal positions, lead singer is also lead rapper and even the main vocal has a rapper position - as a sub and he did very amazing on tour) and I have to bring this bc I feel it's what they're most overlooked for which is their vocal - their blending and harmonies is just so enjoyable to hear and they're very good at demonstrating that here but also in the whole BE AWARE album too. They don't have lore per se but each era has a concept and storyline within itself and up until last year they really didn't try anything w/ it until Maverick. The concept here is actually linked to their last cb WHISPER in which they were angels who in watching over and taking care of humanity fell in love w/ humans and takes inspiration from the movie Wings of Desire, love however is forbidden in their Heaven so captivated by love they chose to fall so that's where the fallen angel line in the lyrics comes from - the fangs, glowing eyes, the animalistic moves and even tearing the skin are meant to indicate that fall from grace, to besmirch their image as angelic beings and distance themselves from the bubbly and fuzzy aesthetics of WHISPER which is the previous cb, so that was about it. (BTW: They do have a vampire lore of sorts with Drink It and Sweet but those aren't official discography!) So that's about it, you should definitely consider checking out the full album bc it's absolute chef's kiss and I enjoyed your reactions and inputs for all the groups today - this was a really amazing batch of MV's!

I think Sweet Juice is a really interesting release considering what is coming from kpop gg lately. A huge part of the song allure is the vocals. They sing very well, the members have distinct voices and their timbres don't grate on my ears: 10/10 for me.

hey gigii, youtube was also recommending both xg and purple kiss to me. xg is not my jam i think, but sweet juice got me hooked INSTANTLY. i really loved the post-chorus + the MV is really referential to The Shining (the movie), it adds to the cinematic vibes, but most bits are a direct reference, like the two girls in the corridor holding hands, the girls in the bathtub, the lost in winter scenes (GREAT CLOTHES), and the theme of the haunted hotel in itself. the RILAS writing, judging from the shining, is backwords, which would spell salir, that is spanish for to exit (you probably know but just in case). I saw this MV and I'm like, I guess I have to stan now. I'm still a new stan so I don't know much, but as it seems the concept for the group is horror movies/horror genre, all of their title tracks' MVs explore the horror tropes, but sweet juice is the first one I recognize a specific movie. and knowing this, by rewatching the MV with subtitles in this reaction, I believe that the lyrics are also inspired by the shining where - in case you haven't watch/read it - an alcoholic guy goes with his family to work in this haunted hotel that is closed for winter, and he awakens the ghosts that drive people mad and makes them do bad things. so his kid is psychic and can see echoes from the past (the MVs scenes) while the father is influenced by the hotel to drink and wake the hotel's ghosts (the lyrics). realizing the reference in the lyrics makes me like it that much more because it's the perfect spot between a love song and a ghost story. I'll have to stan harder.
