That potting soil basket is genius! I wonder if you could add wheels to it so you can roll it in and out?

You can make a wooden frame recessed so you don't see it and stain it the same color as the basket and add the wheels can also spray paint the wheels hardware (flat paint, black or dark gray) so is not shiny.

Your fabric choice is perfect, Laura. Herringbone is classic and rich. For the soil basket, you could get a flat furniture dolly with caster wheels from Harbor freight and mount the basket to it. That way you can roll the basket out easily. I’m 50 and have pain so I’m always thinking of what will save my back a little. Lol. Love you guys!

Seam tape is the new way to sew! I learned to sew in 4-H when I was a child. So many projects I have done with a sewing machine. Once I found the seam tape…ironing is what it’s about! I even use it to hem my pants. It lasts through multiple washings and if it fails, just repair with another piece of seam tape. Love your final choice of fabric. Love the baskets and your whole process. Thank you for sharing with us. You have a way of making us feel like we are part of your process when you do each and every activity. 😊

It turned out perfect Laura! I was hoping you’d use the toile fabric but I think you made the right choice, it’s pretty, not fussy and the color is perfect! I’m still tweaking things in my potting shed that I’ve had for six years, yesterday the hubby and I set up another set of shelves and grow lights😊 now I have room for about 36ish flats for starting seeds growing cuttings on🥰 I feel so fortunate, I really never thought I’d have such a nice place to tootle about in, it’s so wonderful 😀it’s getting crowded though and my husband said this weekend he would build an addition if I would like that! Well of COURSE I do! Lol and I think he’s going to put a breezeway between them, I’ve got some designing to do!

Laura, have you considered putting the trash under the curtain you put up? Then you could use any old trash can that is short enough to fit under the sink. Maybe set it right where the two curtains meet for the easiest access and be able to pull it out during plant grooming? Love the green house! It's coming together well, such an inviting space!

I was surprised before when you didn't use a large pot on a rolling planter to store your hose, it seemed logical because of your stack of pots that you wanted displayed. But, you love wicker, and so do I! It looks sooo pretty, and most importantly, you love it ! If you didn't pre-wash your fabric, it will shrink if you need to wash it, hope you have more of the same. It never fails, if you go back for more, it's gone! If it is, you could use the wicker look of the outside roll-up shade curtain . I love seeing anything you do in the Hartley, even ironing, lol! Looking forward to seeing you and Aaron outside planting beautiful FLOWERS, so longing for Spring!!! Thank you for posting the flower/bird clip, it helps!

So fun watching this project come together! Tidying that area really pulled the entire interior of the Hartley together!! It added the finishing touch! It looks so beautiful.. you picked the perfect fabric and I like that it only hides the pipe area bc it lends to more functionality when needing to access the hose, soil trash etc. and it’s nice to see the brick wall back there too. I was in Marshall’s recently and found three of those wicker chests, large medium and small and they fit inside one another. A little different design, but I love them! Good to know about the iron on adhesive as well. Nice job!! 😍

So glad you discovered the iron-on tape. I’ve used it for small projects for years as I’m not much at sewing. It seems to last well in washings too. And the collapsible hose. I have them on all three of my outside faucets now. Got rid of all of my regular hoses about three years ago except for 100 foot that I leave on a wheeled hose cart that I can use with my pressure washer. I have the collapsibles tucked into regular flower pots with drain hole at each faucet and love them. Love the woven trunk idea for your garden supplies. Everything looks perfect, you have such a good eye for decorating.

Turned out great! As a aged user of spring rods, I found that if you put rod in casing then pull curtain about 1” off rod & wrap towards the back before putting rod into place, give edges a nice finish. (Hard to explain, but trapping fabric between end of rod & wood of cabinet). I’ve also found in some cases, a more flat (not gathered) look can be very nice also!☺️. BTW been playing catch-up on your videos! So related to older videos, I really like the reference “The Hartley”. I love love love how this turned out. When it started, my first thought was "oh please get black on white toile" and you did! I'm sure you held it up and in the end you made the right choice. But you are so right. You can change it out with the seasons, holidays, your mood 😊 Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing the process including the little fails. I have a few places that need something like this too. ❤

The sink area looks beautiful! It’s fun to go through your thought process with you! That gorgeous French tulle would be beautiful on your cushions in there!

I was getting excited to seeing you getting the sewing machine out as my Dad bought me one but i have never used it! lol The "Hem it" stuff is a great life saver! I love using it to make costumes for my child for school events. Great for taking up trousers, if they are too long. You can make cushion covers with that stuff too. You can either use velcro or sew in poppers to seal it.

That fabric is perfect!!!! I’m so glad you didn’t use the black and white check pattern fabric. The baskets look great as well!!!
