I've figured out what I believe why we like Sleep Token, we enjoy a bit of rock, bit of hip hop, and enjoy great musicality between a bit of jazz and funk and we sometimes like a little metal scream--but not all the time. On top of that you add on the incredible percussion/pads of II, the multi-modal voice of Vessel with great III and IV guitar/bass with sometimes backup ethereal vocals and it just checks every box for the musically minded.

I know he does a blegh with higher but never noticed it for this song lol. Not saying you’re wrong, just haven’t heard one live during the offering yet 😂 With the offering I’ve heard him add “yeah! Take a fucking BITE” and go “UP! UP! UP!” (Or is it off? Sounds like it could be either but “up” makes more sense lol) I’ve heard a bleh live with Higher and Vore (Vore also has it in the studio version)

there is a live version of Higher from their performance in Massachusetts from 2019 where he does an incredible Blegh and then just goes offff. He actually jumps off stage and engages with the crowd. DEFINITELY check that version out.

It's so interesting to me: when listening to "Vore," I think: this is the HEAVIEST I've ever heard Sleep Token sound. Then I come back to The Offering and I hear "take a bite..." into that's HARD ass breakdown... And the lyrics about "you've got diamonds for teeth" syncing with "diamonds in the trees, pentagrams in the night sky" from Ascensionism... He was, in their second ever song, telling us just how deep the anger and pain run... I don't see anyone else making this connection so I'm curious if I'm onto something new... But there was something about your reaction that led me to this thought. Thank you for helping me find even deeper connection to this ♥️♥️

Exactly, on their recent tour they actually have some prerecorded dialogue that plays between sets of Vessel talking to the Mask and it kind backs up what you are saying here. Excerpt: "Mask: Why am I here? What is my purpose in all of this? Vessel: Your purpose is twofold. You protect me, from them, and you also protect them from me. Mask: How is it that I serve to protect anyone from anything, that makes no sense. Vessel: In order for all of this to work there has to be a certain boundary in place. I absolutely love that even though you could look them up and see their real identities, you choose not to. I’m very much the same way. The anonymity adds a level of mystique to the band that’s SO FUCKING IMPORTANT to their sound and image. Plus it’s just a matter of privacy.
