What exactly does a producer do? I thought the musicians are the ones that compose the songs? I know that a Mixer has to compress the audio to fit onto tapes and stuff

@@Jalanko13 okay so a producer is basically just there to help write them and show different things they could do to make the song better. Basically a co-writer and a new set of eyes/ears. Sometimes the producer will also engineer the session and all that. Mixing it is basically just making everything cohesive and have each track work with one another at its simplest level.

George Lever, the engineer for this album, also engineered one of the most refreshing up and coming metal albums from last year by a band called Loathe. I recommend the song the song Aggressive Evolution for a good overall representation of their sound, Is It Really You? for more ambience, and Gored for a heavier sound. They also just released an ambient album a couple of weeks ago, which is super cool.

I heard Loathe live when they opened for Rolo Tomassi. Sick and beautiful show. They are awesome. I love Aggressive Evolution. Maybe "Dancing on my skin" or "White Hot" would be as much as appropriate

Sleep Token is probably one of the best discoveries I've had in the last couple years. I came across them via recommended on my Google Play Music (RIP) at the end of 2019. I was at the end of my shift at work, just winding the day down, and I played the first couple tracks from the album, including this one. I immediately added the album to my library and jammed it on the drive home. I probably listened to the whole album something like 30 times over the next couple weeks, between driving, at home, or when I could at work. Definitely Recommend Higher, Take Aim, or Bloodsport, Jaws, or Thread the Needle as something else to react to from Sleep Token.

Best new band of 2019 (I know they have EPs and singles back to 2016, but the Sundowning album cycle is when they really started marketing and getting their much deserved attention), feel if COVID hadn't happened they'd end up on tour opening for someone and hit it big last year. Sleep Token is something REALLY special. Check out the stripped back version of Blood Sport or their cover of Hey Ya to get a true sense of their depth.

Excellent comments and video! Such an amazing band. Best show I saw in 2019. They are completely anonymous. There’s no talking between songs when they play live. Best singer and drummer going right now, in my opinion. Those two write and perform everything on their albums, and they get other musicians to perform bass and guitar parts live, while the keyboards and vocal harmonies are backing tracks. ‘Jaws’ is the one that grabbed me initially, but seriously, every song is fantastic. There’s a video of their singer performing their song ‘Blood Sport’ on piano, and that is fantastic as well. Looking forward to more reactions of these guys!

Two biggest things about this band! 1. All the members are anonymous and the lead singer goes by Vessel. 2. Basically every song of theirs sounds completely different. This is one of their most heavy songs next to Gods, but yeah they span so many genres. Dark Signs, Blood Sport, and Give are top notch!

Oh shit! Never heard of this and it is awesome, hooked after 1 min. There are elements of EDM, Pop, R&B that are tastefully used and blended with prog Metal, really really cool! Also the "production value" from modern pop is there, something that I eventually appreciated on the last Leprous for instance. I'll definitely check this band further. Another great reaction you could do: Dir En Grey - Vinushka, i think (hope) it will blow you away :D
