The side panels are purposefully left blank to allow for a manual shifter. That’s why no capacitive buttons like the Panamera.

I've seen it in person and it's quite stunning. The arches are sexy af, interior a much needed step up from the 991. But i would stick some decals on the piano black bits, however little you have on your car it's annoying to look at.

all I have heard is that the 7 speed will be available 6--12 months after the launch of the 992 in the states...from my understanding, a manual was guaranteed.

Honestly, you really hit the nail on the head here. Although this is a wonderful car, the vlaue proposition just isn't there. Considering what you can get for $140,000 as far as sports cars go, the Porsche just isnt as competive in the performance category considering that you can get much more powerful cars for 75%-100% of the price; or even half the price in the case of the new corvette. However, I am looking forward to the release of the GTS model because you can get more standard features for a marginal increase in the price. I can only imagine what the Porshe Turbo S will cost. Besides the GT3RS, my next favorite Porsche would definitely have to be the targa models! Also, another point that I didn't think about is that likely the people who can afford a $100,000 maybe isn't looking for value, maybe they are an enthusiast of the brand and are willing to pay a premium for the Porsche Crest on the front bonnet. This is similar to people who by Apple products, may not be the highest quality and feature rich product, but people pay for the brand name.

After owning a Porsche and driving multiple Porshes I would say that I could find many other fun ways to spend $140k!!! Lots of very nice cars for less that half that. That being said nothing feels, drives, or sounds like a Porsche.

In your position, I would keep the gt3RS and with the $140k that would have been spent on the 992, you could buy a new 718 GT4 or Spyder for less. A car that is probably a lot more exciting to drive than the 992 Carrera S and a nice alternative (especially the Spyder) for when you want to just cruise and have a nice fun top down drive

I am a car guy, drove a 911, drove gt3, drove tons of other cars, I dont know whats so special about Porsche to put it even above 100k, I understand quality, heritage, NA engine, but you can get lot more for lot less elsewhere. For example I enjoyed new audi s5 much more than this, also 2019 r8 is a killer whale for 100ish k used, corvette is a beast, give me 140k and I would get audi r8 v10 1st gen for 60k and bmw m3 e92 and tesla, and I can have full house ;)

I thought the same years ago . After owning practically every exotic (around 20) I find myself always coming back to Porsche . Especially the Gt Porsche’s . It’s a combination of superb quality, craftsmanship , customer service , reliability, performance, looks and little depreciation that keeps me coming back . The handling and sound especially on the GT3RS/ GT2RS are incredible and the feel imo is as good as it gets. It’s hard to put my finger on it completely but after owning many cars Porsche seems to be very enticing..

So this is a standard 911 but the S model. Above this is the 911 GT2 and GT3 and those have RS models right? Then you have the 911 Turbo and Turbo S which are above the GT models? Please correct me if wrong, I'm trying to learn the hierarchy in their models. Or better yet someone list the models from highest to lowest. I know there is a GT4 model too but no RS version. PimpSolja49 I wouldn’t say that the turbo model is above the GT three especially not the GT three RS model. They really serve different purposes. The GT three and GT three RS are more of a track version raw type car where the turbo is more of a grand touring every day driver that’s very fast on the road and still competent on the track

That’s what I heard as well, but production numbers look way off. Might not be enough of a demand to keep the option alive for the GT3. Manual GT3s are all over the market right now as most owners ended up wanting the PDK

6:34 judging by how its performed in tests...its a pretty serious performer. In carwow video for example it was very close to nismo gtr being just .1 sec slower in quarter mile. It would easily stomp amg gt(prob not from roll though) then in straight line. On track it seems to also be pre dang good as most 911s are..lol. All in all a very good car but its losing some emotion i think.
