Homepage design looks fantastic. Figma news is super cool too. Maybe we can get more vlogs on design systems for marketing sites in the future? 🤓

Contratulations Charlie, for being sponsored by Figma! Enjoy your walk when the lockdown is up! When you show the mobile homepage version, is it responsive or only vertical? Great video as always. Good luck!

Makes so much sense for Figma and Webflow to sponsor the channel. I found both of those tools from your channel and have got loads of clients, friends and the agency I worked at over summer to switch to figma. Good on them! And good on you!

I must say, even I got relief when you finished that project and head into the weekend feeling accomplished. I must say I would love to see you put together a Figma tutorial! It is hard for me to really find good Figma tutorials from amazing teachers like yourself. Most are pretty vague and don’t really go over tools, keyboard shortcuts and buttons, and use case. Well thanks for the awesome video and enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Hey Charlie! I stumbled on one of your videos (the one were you walk through the design process of creating your blog!) and it got me inspired to learn more about Web design! :) And also can't believe that you're also living in valencia!! I just moved here last September from Scotland 🤣 honestly what a coincidence! Maybe I'll bump into you in Túria one day during our walks 😂😂

Congratulations on the figma partnership that's awesome! I was wondering if you could clear up something I've been struggling to get my head around. Everywhere online says you should use an 8pt grid system and space things out in multiples of 8px but bootstrap has a 30px gutter and that isn't a multiple of 8 so do you follow this 'rule' or do you do something else? Appreciate any feedback, thanks :) also wondering what your opinion of auto layout is? It seems really useful but then it deletes all the constraints and isn't very usable. Cheeers!
@charlimarieTV4 жыл бұрын
I don’t follow that rule, no. Systems like the 8pt grid are great to learn and help you refine your design eye for creating balance but you don’t have to stick to them like glue. There’s many different ways to design a website and each designer can find their own design process that works for them ❤️ my advice is to try out rules people tell you and see if they help you. If they don’t, that’s okay! :)

Hey Charlie, can you please make a video on using correct sizes of font, frames, icons, and spacing for a website? Something like we use 8 divisible pixels in android material design.
@charlimarieTV4 жыл бұрын
There is no universal “correct” size! It depends on your project and your personal preferences for which system you want to worth with :)

Charli I'm considering taking a remote job offer from the US whilst living in London as an Australian on a working holiday visa, I was wondering how did you handle tax working for convert kit whilst here? Do you do taxes in the US? Would they pay in your local currency?
@charlimarieTV4 жыл бұрын
I’m a UK citizen so I didn’t have any visa issues. Convertkit pay me as a contractor so I paid taxes in the UK. Good luck with it all! I know it can be super confusing.
