What I'd do on that rusty assed paint job is a "Comet car wash". Hose it down with water, drop on some powdered Comet cleaner, use a Terry cloth and work small sections at a time. It will remove the red rust and oxidized paint at the same time. Be sure to wax it afterwards. It will still have a patina look but it will shine!!! Doesn't cost anything but time and it will look better. Done it many times in the past with good results.

Caution is highly necessary for night driving with a tint that deep. (Personal experience) Turning street corners, look extra hard for pedestrians. I think your Ford truck is totally awesome. Thanks 4 the vids. PS, consider a A/C install without compromising your trucks interior looks, you deserve all the creature comforts of your daily driver in that hot climate.

I'm always torn putting tint on a vintage vehicle. I like a reasonable tint and it does help with temps, but the look is hit or miss. I've also had dark tint vs lighter, and dark drives me nuts at night, hurts visibility, I have no idea how people safely drive with tinted windshields, unless their headlights are upgraded the right way.

is it a pain in the ass is it to daily drive a straight piped car with no a/c? bc im building a 68 mustang coupe and i want it to look, sound and perform similar to a shelby prepared trans am racecar and that involves having straight pipes or just glasspacks and no a/c but i dont want it to be so annoying that i cant daily drive it.
@physkogamer71394 жыл бұрын
I have a 75 Dodge with straight pipe that dumps right out under the passenger side floor. I live in CA and it has no AC but I've been driving it for about 4 months now. Its not as bad as you would think. One thing to know is yes, you are GOING to arrive at your location sweaty. Deal with it. There are several tricks you can do but what I personally recommend is, 1. Wear a tanktop or shirt you don't mind being sweaty and bring a shirt to change into when you arrive, 2. Freeze a wash rag or towel and wear it over your neck while you drive and finally 3. Try not to stop as much as possible. Take different routes that keep you away from stop lights(stop signs are just a recommendation). As for the straight pipe that can be generally annoying after a while just because of the exhaust drone it can have but if you're like me you may actually get used to it. I'm fairly deaf from working with power tools a lot anyway though.
@qball1of14 жыл бұрын
If you are already concerned then yes you will probably find it annoying. There are a million muflers out there from silent to ear splitting, find one in the middle you will be happier. Your car, your choice, but you said you wanted to daily drive a " not pain in the ass" mustang that sounds like a shelby prepared race car...and race cars sound great on track day. To drive open piped car an hour home?? a bit much.

The next part you should do is get those exhaust valves and then hook the second second pipes up to boom tube so you can switch them from boom tubes to shorties.

I have to ask, Is that oil pressure gage hooked up in your truck? And when your truck is at temp, were is the oil pressure at idle. If i remember you saying on one of your videos from awhile back it was a good day because you had 9 psi oil pressure and going to be driving an hour or something. I thought you were BSing Any way I put a 302 in my 71 Mercury comet GT project. it has 20 psi warmed up and rises to 50 psi while cruising. I have been scared to drive it hard because of it. But watching you wind up your truck and drive it hard, Has me wondering if i should work my 302 harder! It does run fine but i have not yet wound it up like you do in the truck.
