It's pretty wild how sometimes people can find neglected/forgotten vehicles that look like they don't have a hope in ever running again and then with a bit of time and energy they fire right up as if they were only parked the day prior. The best part of any project such as this truck is taking pride in the hard work and effort put forth when you successfully revive them and breath new life into the project you are working on, I mean, you may not always win per say and fix the item but tearing into it and learning about how it works is pretty fun in and if itself. Excellent job on the truck and sticking with it, can't wait to see where you head with it next.
@williambradford1467Ай бұрын
I felt this one! When people question why I'm working on something, my answer is "because it pleases me to do so!" No other reason is needed, and it's clear that this project speaks to you. Go for it! Very glad to see you got it as far as you did. I felt myself thinking the same things you were saying just before you said them!

I got a 2010 Camaro few years ago for myself as a retirement/midlife crisis present (Retired Military and finally getting financially ahead, knock on wood). My better half never questions, she understands BUT. I am always tinkering or cleaning it even if I only drive it about 600 miles a year. Same reason: It pleases me and better then drinking being depressed.

I don’t care what anyone says when you take something that hasn’t run in years and fire it up that’s the stuff!!! I had a five years non running five ton wrecker in the military that the captain told me I had to have it running or wrote up as to why it needed to go to the next echelon maintenance! It was 45 minutes from quitting time. It was said that the fools in the missile unit used the fuel tank to clean paintbrushes, at that time it had a brand new motor in it! Twenty minutes later it was running so raggedly but wrote up for battalion maintenance to get! I been a repair person all my life! I’m very interested in seeing more on this truck as time goes on! This is why I watch you😊God bless and good luck 🍀

Sup Max and Mingo... and also.. MORE PLEASE!! I want very badly to see the old beast purring again. She deserves it. My first "getting it run again" was a 1968 VW Karmen Ghia that I saw for sale while on my way to buy an engagement ring. Later that day I had the Ghia in my garage, and had purchased a $900 cheaper engagement ring for my future bride. Getting that old Ghia four-banger to fire up and run had me dancing around just like you were in this vid. Kept the pretty lady, had to eventually sell the Ghia to pay for health care for my children. Have since moved onto other vehicles. And getting a machine that others had left for dead to fire again NEVER gets old.

That old girl has a bit of history hiding in there. It’s a bit of a junkyard dog itself. Some kind of glider kit perhaps, everything from the steering box back doesn’t look typical KW. Tag axle,and saddle tank ? Ford Louisville seats, she’s an enigma. Good call on the seized alternator. Knew a guy who bought a KW K-100 that belonged to an oil company. Sat for a few years before the got it off the books. They said it was seized. He figured 12V 71 it had, had crystallized salt jamming the blower lobes. Lots of WD 40 and patience and he got it running. He wanted the engine for a homemade timber harvesting machine. Sometimes you get lucky. Thanks for the video. You have a lot of patience. I drove the same KW with the same engine you have there for 26 years. The truck is currently being fully restored by the new owner. I was with that truck longer than most marriages last. All long haul.
