I'm happy you liked my art :) I love your videos and it was so cool to see what you made with this box!

Hello, I loved watching you develop your plan and subject, that you wanted to draw. For me, that is the most fun, and the hardest part, to come up with when making any kind of art. Then, the struggle is REAL when you try to put your idea down on paper from what you envision in your head. We got to see all that planning and struggle, and in the End, it was BEAUTIFUL. I agree that you went to just the right degree of finesse before you stopped, and called it finished. Great Job there. Your a good inspiration, I think a lot of people appreciate your channel BECAUSE you show just what it takes, to go from white paper, to a finished piece of art, AND ! you explain your thought process out loud. Other art channels just give a quick talk about what they are going to do, and then it is all just music playing, with no voice over, or real time voice and artwork. So the viewer Never gets to know the thought process ALONG the way, of making a piece of art. Your my hero for being so brave and bold, and Not afraid to show us the process you go through to make a piece. Keep It up, you are among just a few here, that do that type of show and tell with their art.
@queensandvagabonds1915 жыл бұрын
I LOVED how you showed your process with all the erasing and figuring out! It's nice to see that even artists like you sometimes need time to figure something out. makes me feel better about my own process. Whenever I see artists paint but they are starting out with a finished sketch I'm like: BUT HOW?!?! thank you so much! :)

I think that art box company really did give a Great value in the box for what was paid to get it. Other openings of art box's I have seen have been MEH … Is that all ? I would have felt cheated and taken advantage of had it been my hard earned money to get with most other mystery box companies are send out. Maybe if you LOVE, love, love, stickers or tissue paper, then you might be very glad you got that in your box, but actual art supplies? 'not so much'.

I’m guessing the “8 sheets “ is the reference to the paper you can draw on and not the advertising paper I see with the supplies Must say €20 for that much stuff is brilliant compared to the other subscription boxes.

First wonderful picture I think you did an amazing job! I know how you feel about the water brushes I felt the same way they had such a steep learning curve, but I have found that if you spend a little bit more money on the better brands the water flow is actually pretty controllable and they are great for taking with you and going on a location or just having in your travel pallet so you don’t have to lug around a cup of water and worry about spilling. I also like that you can use your watercolor palette you don’t have to carry all of them watercolor brushes along to have a full range of colors you can simply mix them on your pallet with the water brush! I am sure if you give it more time you will learn to appreciate the water brush. Good luck and I look forward to next video. By the way Dina, you are an amazing artist!

Erasing the paper to much is a thing and it’s happened to me where either the paper tares up or I crumble the paper because I erase to fast 😂

Autumn Blaze yes! It ruins the paper even before it rips! The sizing of the paper gets erased, and I notice my watercolors act/lool differently on erased paper. Kneaded rubber is the way to go.

I use water brushes cuz they're cheap, but then just dip them in water like normal instead of doing the squirt thing. Some of those colors were super pretty! I agree I like the pastel ones. Too bad I can't afford boxes like this, it seems like a fun way to keep motivated for art experimentation.

She’s beautiful..I love the water coming down behind her..I have been using some similar pens this weekend I have found that it you put a smaller amount where you want it to be darker then drag it out with your brush it works better..once it dries you can go in once again ..The water brush in this case is better as the drying time is cut down a lot as your putting on less water than a traditional brush..Hope this helps..I did not like them at firs so they sat there for a bit..but you can creat pretty fairy wings,mermaid tails or pretty coloured backgrounds where you want all the colours to blend together..these don’t seem to go muddy like normal Watercolours when they overlap a touch 😀
@gildersleevee5 жыл бұрын
I agree, and also, if you treat the water brush like a paintbrush, where you adjust the amount of water or paint on your brush by using a towel or sponge or stack of paper towels to control the water, and liquid in your brush BEFORE you put it on the paper, I think you will love the brushes more. If you want a dryer brush just drag water out of the bristles, it flows back into the brush pretty slowly ( at least on the pentel versions I use) I find at times I am having to squeeze out some more water, as I find them to be too slow at times, But even that problem is solved easily. Once you get to the point where you can control the liquid in them, you too will discover just how much easier they can make your painting life. ALSO, if you get water soluble graphite pencils and do your sketch with those, they can give you some easy ways to add shadow to your paintings with just a spot of plain water. Wetting the pencil line work does two things, It sets the graphite, and allows you to make a grisaille like underpainting at the same time, a heavier line will allow for darker underpainting. Just a few ideas for you to play with.

To be honest, I'd rather have a box with many supplies that are on the cheaper side, than getting a box with like four copic markers and two sheets of paper. You can do much more with a whole bunch of cheap art supplies, than you can do with with a very limited amount of high quality ones.

Your sketching is beautiful. However, when you’re putting it on paper, you’re focusing too much on making it look finalized. Be loose with it. Don’t worry about making it pretty the first time. Sketch roughly and go over it with dark lines or a fine liner and erase. I deal with the same thing and it’s so time consuming. I love your art, though! Glad I found your account :)
