Great run down Sammy. I almost bought a triton 210 myself, but because I plan to use my boat with my mrs and young kids I ended up with a cuddy cabin (Tournament 1900 bluewater). The esky trick on the back step is a pretty damn good one, I like that a lot.

And have you tried any of the other bags on the market yet? Bcf, wilson , afn all do one. And a mob called extreme ice do one with 10mm of insulation. I have the same Midi Chiller and I have found that freezing my own ice in large blocks lasts much longer than buying party ice. I still have ice left at the end of an 8-hour summer session.

Try freezing salt water in sturdy plastic juice bottles. Salt water freezes at a lower temp than fresh water and stays frozen for longer. Buying bags of salt ice rather than party ice is also an option, though it's normally more expensive.

My boat was about the same size and configuration as yours. And I had a seating a problem. I disliked the built in bench seating for the same reasons you seem to. Unlike you, I almost always had two others with me. So, I purchased three very light weight white stacking plastic arm chairs from Costco at about $20US each. I could move them around the boat as needed. And if they became a serious problem while fighting a giant black or blue marlin, I could toss them into the bow area or even overboard (but I never did). They were great when I got old and/or wanted to sit and have a beer on the way home).

Great job mate. Won't be long before the lithium is a lot cheaper once Mexico starts pumping the mines out. Grab the Simrad 4G radar with the auto pilot mate then you can do rigs etc on the way out and just relax. Can't beat sitting back when you can see all around you and knowing your autopilot does too 👍

The battery charging"brain" is a VSR or voltage sensitive relay. Basically it senses when the main battery is fully charged and then diverts charging to the secondary battery.

Matt do yourself a favour and get a Suzuki ASAP, I have a Suzuki 70 its as smooth as and sometimes I think it actually makes fuel, and trolls very well for cod and yellas in copeton ,ie its very smooth and controllable, even at these very low speeds

Sorry Sammy, At 1.24 you can see the forward navigation lights. BUT, it is obscured by the trolling motor (port side) . this makes it ((not legal)) for use during the dark hours. This is just for info as I am not an authority on this subject .ll mat you have a great boat. cheers Wayne

Nice one, Sammy. Could you get the fibreglass guy you find to turn the current under-seat storage area into a slightly longer custom insulated fish bin/chiller, with the new correct-height seat on the lid? You obviously can't get it made too long or you'd cut down on your ability to walk past it, but that'd potentially kill two of your current issues in one hit! Or, to fill in that rod storage area you don't use along the side to make a custom insulated bin (long and narrow) with a slide out lid, that would fit ice and a mahimahi/mackerel placed upright lengthways?

They are the equivalent of 2x 120amp lead acids. Not sure how long they would run for. I’ve used it solidly for 1.5days without flattening them

Hey Sammy. Very cool setup and some great tips. The esky on the step is genius. On the chiller bag front, i make my own ice with this stuff - www.koolergel.com.au - in it and get full days no worries. Highly recommend it. On the seat front, i reckon the setup on my boat is the best ever. I've a Signature 543SF and I've highly modified the seat "station". I'd send you a photo and details, but not sure how to do that. Bit of a random one but I’ve thrown a car windshield reflector over a ice bag before and it’s kept the bag cold even in 35 degrees. Only thing to be careful of is the reflection back at you causing major sunburn so throw it somewhere you don’t stand a lot, preferable under cover if you can.
