Well it was time for another big prawning session! I take Shauno for his very first SEQ Prawning trip. We manage to get stuck into some great sized prawns to cap it off.

Just a tip, to chill water fast add salt to it. To boil water fast don't add the salt at the start, wait for the rolling boil then add it, you'll find it will come to the boil faster.

we cook and eat prawns all the time but never been able to get that salt to water ratio correct. did everything you said right down to brown sugar. PERFECTION!! whole family agreed its a winner. when we all get together and boys start watching fishing vids I ask for yours. always enjoy. cheers

Great vid Sammy and some great tips on cooking the prawns, maaate gunna have to head to the Caboolture river if i get a chance as they looked so good. Bloody Shauno gotta tape a bucket and sponge to him next time so he helps washing the boat lol. Really informative video by the pancake kid and maybe Shauno can be the cup cake caster cheers Muzz

yeah they move around a lot mate. they can be there one day and gone the next. but on the smaller tides they do usually hang around the area for a couple of days.

Best way to cook prawns or crabs is in the water you catch them in. (if you don't trust the water don't eat your catch.)

You should try the Louisiana brand of crab and seafood boil mix. It will give your shrimp or crab a bit of a kick in flavor. Let me know if you have tried it if not I can send you some.

geksii haha yeah mate, he’s great fun to have in the boat! Ahhhh yes, I’m glad you noticed because a lot of time and money went into getting that audio right! I use a rode video mic on the back camera and a lapel mic on the front camera. Gives me good quality audio from both 👌👌

There's too much water when you boil it, it will be a lot tastier when you boil it with a small amount of water. Or I usually cook it without adding water so it will boil in its own juice so there is no chance of the flavour getting washed out by the water. Nice video.

I disagree actually mate, I find as long as you adjust the salt content to suit the amount of water the flavour remains A+. In saying that, if your method is working for you keep at it!

@@keith2j The salt is all that is needed. These prawns have a lot more natural flavor than crawfish. Though you can do a "Crawfish Boil" style cook with prawns (Shrimp). Oldbay season goes good.
