Agree with your comment about the steering wheel buttons looking cheap. I found the thickness somehow bothered me less with the leather wrapped wheel than with the alcantara. Touring chassis is definitely the way to go unless you plan to track it. You forgot one important factor vs BMW M2: the Emira is gorgeous, the M2 has a face only a mother would love.

It was good to meet you and your brother yesterday Joe, and you were definitely in my neck of the woods on this test drive, I literally live up with those views from Arthur’s seat… sometimes in the winter the cloud can drop below those lookouts and it’s amazing to be above the cloud level like in an aircraft.❤ there is a lovely test drive down there you can take any car on which really tells you everything about a car’s characteristics…😂

Spot on Joe. But you need to drive a touring spec car in England. it's a surprise quite how different they are. I'm happy using mine as a daily, but I'd not do that in a track spec car.

Let’s say that the RRP of this vehicle is approx $ 210 k AUD Including options etc Add approx $ 5 k AUD for a Dealer Delivery Fee Plus Stamp Duty of approx $ 10 k AUD And Rego Fees of approx $ 1 k AUD Total is $ 225 k AUD Drive Away… The RRP of $ 210 k includes about $ 35 k of Luxury Car Tax !! And a 10 % GST… LCT greatly inflates the price of any New vehicle in Australia, that is over $ 100 k AUD… Lotus is a very niche brand in Australia. The local distributor would have a healthy margin built into the RRP of $ 210 k… The above are approx calculations…

We're spoilt in the UK for driving with our back roads, that are just a few minutes from every town, village and city. I've been living in Australia for 14 years, it's the worst place to have a performance car, the cars spend their lives doing 60kph, they're basically for show only, luckily for the Australians they don't know any different. I can't wait to get back to the UK once a year to drive my stored Porsche 993. Less than one minute from my Mum's house I can take my car up to 250kph off the slip road and on to the A45 in sleepy Suffolk, and then head out into the rural A and B roads. However, the lifestyle and weather generally knocks spots off the UK, it's paradise in Aus, if you like that sort of thing that is, as there's a lot to be said about the beauty of the British countryside.

Joe. The steering wheel complaint that you have about it being thick. On the second year of my M2 competition the steering wheel now is much better and does not hurt my hand, although I enjoyed the thicker steering wheel feel overtime it loses its plushy feel and becomes almost very normal. Without losing its nice feel. So own a car for longer than a year. :P haha. (Bmw pls ignore people who say it’s too thick bmw drivers don’t want audi tooth pick steering wheel!! Lol 😂

Great content as usual..I daily my emira on sport suspension..great on dubai roads. Then again I am a short arse 5.10. No issues with space reasonable room behind the seats..only avoid food in the boot unless you want it cooked as you drive home

People who buy the Emira want a cheap Ferrari/Lamborghini/Mclaren. They do not want a M2. I know you compared the Emira against the M2 due to their price but the M2 is a bland ordinary car like all BMWs/Audis/Mercs and even Porsche to some extent. The Emira is for those who want a supercar without the Supercar price. Review should have been compared to the Supercars but with cons offset by the lower purchase price.

It is interesting how you said you think you pay a lot of money for cars in the UK, in Turkey it is probably the most expensive in the world. A BMW M3 touring will cost you well around 370K$, that is about 270K$ above the UK price for brand new. A normal 2022 used 520i will cost about 120K$. Super crazy prices. That is the case for all cars not only BMWs.
