It's interesting how the brand carries such cache for old guys like me who have been in love with English sports cars since childhood. It's a LOTUS. We are all so pleased that the company is doing well and carrying the tradition. Ferrari and Lambo will always be in business as long as the wealthy must have toys. But for Lotus to be Lotus, there must be drivers who love the traditional ethics of the sports car.
@RearWheelZeal2 жыл бұрын
Love how transparent Lotus have been in regards to this car's road to production, and doubly so given what a difficult period it's been recently in the world of manufacturing. It feels a real privilege to be granted access to the shop floor to witness the assembly processes and final inspection stations. Thanks to Harry for buying and Lotus Cars for sharing!

You clearly have not been trying to buy one of these cars, transparent, what a joke, for months they told no one any thing, try saying they being transparent when your 29th order and still not got a car..... yet youtubers ? am pleased for Harry.... but the way LOTUS have been towards depositors has cause many to pull out.....
@RearWheelZeal2 жыл бұрын
@@Turbojetkart Very sorry to hear that. Matt Windle appeared on the last Emira video on this channel and was openly discussing some of the difficulties impeding this car's release. It's unfortunate that Lotus hadn't been in direct contact with early deposits such as yourself about these matters, although given the recent state of the European economy I suppose it's fairly expected that a relatively low-volume specialty automobile might end up running into production delays. I hope it ends up being worth the wait for you, as the car still looks fantastic.

I try to tell them if you want zero steering feel and don't want to feel what the car does then sure choose a Supra, but driving a car to me is about feeling what the car is going. Any car can go fast, but a Lotus you feel like you're driving it not it driving you. There's more to a car than how fast it can go.

The British motoring press' willingness to call a spade a spade over the years is exactly what's made their feedback so valuable and their editorials so compelling. Congrats to Harry, nice to see you supporting a great British car brand. Big believer in the benefits of running in a new car even though most don’t have the patience but then I tend to keep my cars longer than most. I would swap out the engine and gearbox oil at 1000 miles personally. Lotus used to have running in oil that allowed for just the right amount of wear to bed everything in but it needed replacing at 1000 miles. I’d be interested to know what has changed.

Exactly what I thought when I saw the 10,000 mile oil change intervals in the book. That's already standard in automotive but thought that Lotus as an enthusiast brand would recommend oil change after run in period. But all in all it's Toyota engine so it'll probably be reliable either way.

Harry’s a guy I admire. As far as I can tell, he’s that rare thing, a person rich from his own work, didn’t inherit money or a business. Didn’t ruthlessly crush weaker people on the way up. Didn’t sail close to the wind legally. Instead, he followed his passion plus hard nosed business brain, forming a business that created a segment that didn’t previously exist, at least not in such a relatable way. Built the business up up himself with good, passionate colleagues, had a lot of laughs, always put out a quality product. Then, someone in the publishing consolidation game acquired his company and that was presumably his big capital gain. I did this myself on a very much smaller scale. There’s no feeling like that, a wealthy acquirer signs the final legal documentation and, after whatever the required administrative clearance processes were passed, the formal final closing occurs and then something remarkable happens to your bank account 😊 So well done, Harry. Your success & sharing your enjoyment make up a proper force for good.

Wonderful to see Harry so excited. It is special to pick up a new car from the factory - I did this some years ago with our then new Mercedes and, somehow, the car then always felt special.

There's nothing like picking up new car. From the factory even more special. I picked my Mercedes slc from Auckland main dealer and it was very special and they video the whole reveal and showing you around. Very special.

Thanks for sharing this Harry, it was great to see you bouncing around happy. Hope the first few miles have gone smoothly and you're still loving the car

One of the quickest yet most accurate engine & power train run in explanations for a new car I have seen for a long time,. Scott is quite clearly at the top of his game, it just flowed so naturally.. superb job. And lastly.... what a beautiful car, well done on the colour mix Harry... simply stunning.
