I’m afraid you may be giving folks the wrong impression of Bristol. It’s a great town and a great place to walk around, awesome shops and great history. Even Philly is not all crime and danger.

Yes, please be careful and safe in your travels, Cliff. I'm sure that I can echo the sentiments of the viewers and subscribers, and myself included, that we would want you to be cautious, safe and sound while filming and traveling.

Folks, if you are interested in learning about the early history of the Delaware Canal starting in Bristol, there are plenty of informative sites found on the internet. Absolutely fascinating. Also, Cliff, too bad you couldn't join the annual Friends of the Delaware Canal in April when they focused on the spring cleanup in the Bristol environs. A group of educated people who would have gladly shared their knowledge and given the sense of security you seek.

Chris and I have walk a lot of the Delaware Canal. We haven’t put up all the videos but your going to love this towpath. The scenery is some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve seen in PA. 🤗. I’ve had to deal with homeless encampments in the Allentown section of the D&L. A little scary but we did it anyway.

You're going to love biking up from there though Yardley. Maybe make Washington Crossing your stopping point for lunch.

So pleased you didn’t go down that towpath not worth the risk. Was lovely to see a canal lock all there it was lovely. Now that last spot was awesome the birds were really singing there, and honking of course. What a beautiful place to finish up. Was good to see Kathy. I was wondering how Bob was. Will pray for him. Thanks for taking me along. Please take care

Cliff- I grew up in that area! You passed right by the Bucks County Courier Times, where I worked a while ago. Somehow, I'm still alive. Thanks for insulting it! Of course, you can't insult it more than I have- LOL!

I walked the 60 miles of the D.C. in 2019 -- alone -- had no negative encounters. I"m glad I was oblivious to all the dangers of the last segment south of Morrisville, or I wouldn't have done. it. Did it all in 4 segments traveling from NYC by transit. Easton to Uhlertown (or is it Uhlerville?) ,New Hope to Uhlertown, Morrisville to New Hope, and Morrisville to Bristol. Had to get a 6:30AM bus out of NY to get to Easton at a decent time for that one. I have to say so much of the Delaware Canal is achingly beautiful. Just intoxicating. Though Morrisville to Bristol is not so pretty, mostly. There was life in the water, though, as you saw. I did encounter one sketchy person somewhere midway on that trek, but they paid me no mind, but it was a momentary worry. I also walked the entire Delaware and Raritan Canal State Park in NJ. I'll tell you walking into Trenton from Lambertville in the early evening, or walking out of downtown Trenton to Princeton in the no-man's land alongside the Trenton Freeway was a heck of a lot more unnerving than anything Bucks County could throw at me. Bristol was a fascinating town-- I really studied up on where the canal went, and what remnants are still there, even where it is 99% obliterated. At 6:35 check the different pavement to your left -- that's demarcating one of the first locks. Also that factory with the clocktower -- Grundy -- was once Bucks County's largest employer. Looking forward to any future visits you make to the eastern PA canals.

The jeep sounds so quiet. Guess the operation was a success😂. What a shame you cant even walk through a park safely anymore.smh But,on the other hand,if you must live in a homeless camp, that is a beautiful place to live. I want to live in that stone house next to the canal. Wonder if it floods. Looks like it'll be a nice bike ride. Our cat enjoyed the ducks and geese. I think she thinks the tv is a big window. Enjoyed this very much. Stay safe as always.❤❤

I've been waiting for you to start this video series on the Delaware Canal since your initial introduction video a year ago. I love the history of the canal. Its important to keep it alive for future generations. I ride my motorcycle on river road quite often and its always been a treat to take in the history while traveling along the canal. I plan to haul my bicycle there and ride the tow path in the future. And I feel you're doing the Union Canal a great service too, with your videos on that subject matter as well. Its sad that it appears its been mostly fogotten. They need to restore more of it for future generations. Thank you for doing these videos on both canals. They're worth the effort!

I walked the Delaware canal towpath in sections last year from Scudder Falls Bridge to easton. The trail was closed just north of lumberville at paunacussing creek and required walking on the street. Also closed in a couple spots between paunacussing creek and uhlerstown but passable on foot but not on bike. Also there was a washed out spot between riegelsville and upper black eddy that required going into the prism of the canal to pass. I offer to walk the towpath with you on some weekend.

The Canal Hike gets way prettier and safer as you head north. It's funny that I regularly hike the towpath and I live in Levittown about 5 miles from Bristol , but this video is first time I've ever seen that part of the towpath. I usually pick up the path in Yardley or Washington's Crossing.

I would think you *could* have problems between Bristol and Morrisville (because of trenton). Otherwise north of there you should be fine. I used to run the West Trenton section of the Canal on the NJ side for over a decade without issue.

Lock 4 being in operation for nearly 50 years longer would mean it was in better shape, that said south Philly is NOT any place I would go. Had friends from Pennsylvania in years past who said best to avoid Philly at least in the 70s and 80s but they were from Pittsburgh which wasn't to my taste either. Be safe in these kinds areas.
