Dustin, my wife of almost 50 years and I have done this trip three times. Cassiar-Tuk twice and length of Alcan-Tuk once. I am under orders, we will not be doing it again, but let me tell you I will be with you all the way. Let the Journey be as important as the Destination.

@@Destination_Adventure You referred to it as an expedition, it sure is closer to that than a camping road trip. Almost anywhere, stop and safely park and walk away from the road, over the rise and just sit in silence and marvel at the vastness. Look out for any dark dots making their way towards you, those would be bears. Spend your money, your 20 bucks makes a real difference in the villages you will pass through. God, I wish I was allowed to return, lol. Not many 70 year old women want to endure the trip. sorry, I prattle on...

Boat launch. From there you launch and run out to the point and around back in to Quauccet ....spelling wrong...and let the adventure begin. The village is fly in boat in only and when gramma taight up there in the 60s we would hear the stories of the wild and crazy bush pilots that would deliver her. Fascinating history and also of one seal pup adopted there. Good luck and Bon Voyage pal

I'm an electrician, when you go through a wall, especially a metal one, you want to use a plastic or rubber gromit to keep from rubbing. A metal pass through tube is also a good solution, silicone isn't enough to keep it from wearing through the insulation of the wire.
@havnfncali15 ай бұрын
I wanted to say the same thing. Needs rubber pass through bushings. The first trip will rub right through that wiring and hopefully pop a fuse is the best outcome.

Love this show you've put together! Absolutely love it!! Just wanted to send out a friendly jesture in regards to you wiring in your freezer. You may want to consider some rubber grommets when you're going threw the aluminium sheet metal. Your adventures can be bumpy at times, and those wires will rub on the metal, eventually arking out - failing. Thus failing your freezer and any food in it. Happy and safe trails and i look forward to your adventures to " Tuk " this season!!

Dustin, if your heading up the Alaska highway north of Fort St. John, at mile 171 just north of the sikkani cheif bridge take a left on the “Grassy” rd for 16km then another left for 1.5km to the parking area and hike into the sikkani falls, it’s about a 10 minute hike to get down to them, just don’t go in there if the roads not dry, it gets pretty bad when it’s raining!

Envy your lack of rust on the west coast. That truck and brake line specifically would be rust dust here on the east coast. Might suggest wire grommets for your drilled hole for your cooler wire, all rough roads you drive will wear into the wire. Princess auto sells a kit of different sizes.

@davidbochmann58115 ай бұрын
Two items first you need to put some protection against those wires where they go through the wall the vibration they will cut and short out Secondly, you need to insulate your freezer either a three-quarter or 1 inch foam underneath and either reflect it or foam all around the outside remembering to leave it open where the fan is and then either some foam or a big thick insulated blanket on top. You’ll see a huge difference in the amount of use and power usage if you will insulate it , never when it’s empty even if you put water bottles in it, make sure there’s always something inside of it when it’s turned on
