@@ms.pac-man368 I do agree with you that in 99% of the cases that should happen, but I do know one family that it was better that the brother and sister were split up. The girl was adjusting very well to the foster family that wanted to adopt them both but the brother was not at all, he was the oldest of the two and still had memories and dreams that his mother was coming back for him, so the children's advocate and psychiatrist both felt that it was better for them to be split up. He was adopted by a single man who loves him greatly and the brother does not feel any resentment towards a female that he feels is trying to take his mother's place. The kids still see each other all the time, they go to the same school and they all make sure they are together for birthdays and special days. Both kids are thriving

What a blessing for all involved. WFAA please do periodic updates on "the boys and their family". As an adoptive parent, I will admit the system has had some wrinkles but did offer supports. Adoption laws vary from state to state and country to country and thus the range of adoption/foster care experiences. As with any child, parenting is a life-long job so while these boys stories may have ended on one level they are just beginning on many others. Peace.

Abuse is terrible unnecessary and evil I am so happy this ended well for these boys ❤️

You don't know what their trauma is, so how can you weigh in? There are some traumatic events that are so damaging to a child that in order to help them, they need one on one special care in order to process the event and be able to function. A child goes through a personal hell when they are deeply scarred by horrific events. They need focus just on them for awhile.That is what this sounds like.
@kristin48406 жыл бұрын
I’ve had foster children in my home. Sometimes there is abuse in the home and then the siblings act out on each other physically. Once a month seems sparse tho for visits. The norm for kids I had was once a week in therapy sessions together. CPS can be criticized but the real culprit is the states who cut funding to these organizations every chance they get. The caseloads are super high and the pay is low unfortunately and kids do fall through the cracks. Believe me, the people working in this field are doing it out of love and caring.
