Finally got myself a 6105-8000 homage Rdunae R2

That's a lovely looking watch, and a great mod! Rdunae does some really nice, solid pieces. I got their RA03 copy of the MIL-W-3818B specification on the cheap recently, since it was the closest to the originals in terms of size and (lack of) markings,. And for an inexpensive and simple little watch, it's got wonderful finishing and great attention to detail making it a great stand-in for military issue Benrus DTU-2A/P*, or alternatively, for a Benrus or Hamilton GG-W-113 specification. It would have been nicer with a mecaquartz movement and sapphire (OR acrylic) crystal, but I can't convince myself the effort and cost would warrant the 'upgrades' of modding it. We'll see.

Thanks for sharing Celeb! The RA03 does look really nice! I agree about it being nicer if it had a mechaquartz (for me, even an inexpensive hand-winding movement) and acrylic (I like the aesthetics of an acrylic crystals especially for vintage style watch). But regardless of not having those specs, you're still getting one heck of a watch for that price!

I got that watch a few weeks ago and I concur. Mine is perfect so I waited until the Willard was back in stock. It’s back with a vengeance now... 8/31/2004. Mine was $135... there are others selling the same thing on AliExpress for more. It’s the same updated model in my opinion. My 6105 should be here in a week or so.

Hey Zikan, if you found April time-consuming you should see how May is. I think you will find it even more time consuming, by precisely a day:) I may not be a dad, but i can do dad jokes:) The 6105-8000 was the version Seiko released just before the Willard right? Like they year before I think. Looks quite a bit smaller than the Willard. On wrist I'd guess it's more comfortable. But there is indeed some unique visual charm that comes from the asymmetry of the 8110 case.

hahahahahaha! Your jokes never disappoint Andrei! Yes! 6105-8000 is the predecessor to the 6105-8110! It does wear a lot smaller than the willard for sure! I should also note that the lug to lug is pretty much the same with the 2 models. I agree about the charm of the willard. I prefer it to the 6105-8000.

I don't like the changing of the crown and clear AR in the updates. It's two small things that set the R2 apart from the R2X. Still a great watch.

Ah! I'm really sorry! You're right! The previous R2 model came with blue AR coating! I think I got mixed up with the R2X for some reason (signs of getting senile...). However, it is clear AR on the new R2 model just like the R2X! Sorry for the confusion!
