Something I'd like to point out is that Miyuki and Kaguya both have fantastic friendships with the opposite sex that are actually even more sincere than what they had for each other up until this point. Miyuki could be his talentless, flawed self with Chika and she puts up with it out of respect for his genuine effort to improve himself. And Kaguya doesn't really realize it, but she's quite kind towards Ishigami while inspiring him to continue to try out of his own form of dignity and pride. These kids were actually all quite good for each other in a very wholesome way, except for Kaguya and Miyuki up until this very moment.

That's basically what they mentioned as it relates to Miyuki and Chika at least. There were a few times Kaguya and Miyuki were able to expose the cracks of each other vulnerabilities, like with Miyuki being bad at balloons in S3 and Kaguya there to see it and acknowledge his efforts. Though still of course holding back more for the most part.

It's great how the comedy can also have such purpose to be used as a foundation for the character drama.

25:55 "Miyuki blames himself for the breakup but it would have happened either way" That's not exactly what's going on, in full version of Miyuki's breakdown in the manga, Miyuki confirms that when his mother left, she actually took his sister with her, leaving Miyuki behind, specifically because "she was the smart one" and left Miyuki, "the dumber one" to his dad. He also says "If I worked hard enough, maybe she would come take me too", so yeah. Miyuki's mom leaving the family wasn't just her leaving the father, but also Miyuki specifically. That's why his Inferiority complex and the fear of Kaguya being disappointed in him is so deep-seated.

Since you guys frequently talk about male "ore" energy as it relates - So now you can see with Miyuki, this shows how there can be the downside to pushing yourself too much to show that bravado as a male, much to a point where it maybe hard to drop that persona. How hard it could be sometimes in the sense as a male to have that image of confidence, but also need to be able to have times to be vulnerable too. As well as about finding a partner willing to accept that vulnerability when you're not in a confident state and able to bring you back to it in a healthy way.

What a great story. Now that the movie is done, I can reiterate a great breakdown of Kaguya's psychology when this arc was playing out. She repeatedly referenced how a kiss isn't a big deal, because if it was, then prostitutes would be dating everyone. Which, if you pair with the bit about the deep kiss she learned at the start, touches on Kaguya's deep insecurity that she was acting like a prostitute. Of course, that's only because she one-sidedly kissed Miyuki. If he ever kissed her back, it would shift the context away from her being an easy woman (in her mind) and into the two of them just doing something really intimate and hot. She just wanted reciprocation in the most mess-of-a-human way possible. On top of that, when we break down her internal court case at that point, we basically got the full story and this stressor was just the trigger for the bigger issue. Kaguya made an effort to become more likable, and in doing so, she became a lovestruck idiot. And as a lovestruck idiot, she did something incredibly embarrassing in succession. And while she was kicking herself for it, she also wondered if this was the only way she could end up with her beloved Pwez, which opened the floodgates for her to try to form a proper connection as the Ice Queen to confirm it.

The Ishigami stuff was after the Ice Kaguya arc (ch 138-151). They just added the date part (ch 159-160 condensed version) at the end. Obviously in a suggested S4 the Ishigami stuff will come. Not enough time for it then.
