You have to have the have higher voltage transformer and a better door bell inside the house

I do not have a chime. How do i wire the the nest chime to the transformer?

What/ why do you have the little white round chime connector connected in series on one of the wires? If you do not have a Chime bell what does the round connector do?

Hey Jacob, when researching in preparation to wire this correctly...all I found was that the chime connector needed to be wired in series as you mentioned. I've tried other configurations and my transformer literally blew. Could be the transformer, could have been something else. My take is the chime connector regulates the power like a resistor. That transformer you got it should be 40 volts to work

As an electrician, it's perfectly fine to have 120v wires in a box with a transformer. Don't believe everything online.
