FINALLY... IE Mobile Tuning! (POWERlink)

Oh heck ya!! Just got the IE cable and dongle a few days ago. Had to order a battery for an old laptop I had kicking around to tune the MK7.5. Was really dreading having to use an old crappy laptop but you just saved me from doing that! Thank you! Just updated the firmware with my desktop and went out to see if it would work and boom the gauges showed up. Will tune it in the next few days when this snow is suppose to melt. Thanks again for letting me know!

@@mirsand1397 Not really. its an app to allow you to flash/tune your car without needing a laptop like before. you can also see guages with different info from different sensors, like boost and such.

PS they mentioned it was in the works over the last year or so very vague but it was always on their facebook group.

Had my DSG flash error out while mobile tuning last night on my 8v s3, the most terrifying 30 mins of my life while i frantically googled for answers lol I don't own a windows laptop so i had to install windows on my macbook via parallels and flash back to stock from the computer, and then reflash. All is good now, just running stage 1 91 high torque and tcu tunes, stage 2 coming soon most likely!

Unfortunately there's no Data logging on Mobile at this time-- apparently its in the pipeline though.

I asked this very question myself. And having it in my car consistently for a couple of months now, it doesn't seem to drain it at all. Although I do notice it is still drawing power (flashing green light)

I have the cable from them but it was purchased in 2019. Do I need the latest version to use the app?

Depends, look at the back of your dongle to see if its v3 or v4 if v4 you are good... Just make sure you use pc to update firmware to use the new Bluetooth software etc.

Oh and it needs to be the V4 Model to work with the App. the V3 does not have the wireless module built in and not compatible with the moble App.

You purchase the tunes and they give you credits on the app. The nice thing is you only pay the different if you want to upgrade later so like only $100 to go from stage 1 to stage 2

hey i just went stage 2 with ie with my mk7 gti abt a week ago now and i currently have intake, dp, tmd, and turbo inlet pipe but i feel like im not getting the power i should be getting. ig im just wondering what i could do since this is my first time tuning a car i drive

Would it remove my check engine light if tune to stage 1.. have the light because install IE downpipe?

I couldn't say for certain, but I believe the downpipe would require a stage 2 tune along with a CAI (and intercooler, which is recommended but not required) (Edit: depending on what vehicle is being tuned, of course)

@Alejandro Sanchez looks like your vehicle will, in fact, require a stage 2 tune for the downpipe. In order to maximize gains and turn off the engine light.

Without having done zero research on this, my first guess is that now you don’t rely on a laptop and wifi connection to flash the car. You can flash “on the go”. Before you needed to have a laptop in the car, connected to wifi and that was very inconvenient. This mobile app is a huge improvement no doubt.
