I know it takes like 5 times longer to flash than from PC but it's so much more convenient, also I noticed windows 10 runs alot better, I think it has to do with the scheduler changes and such they did with windows 11, though I might be wrong

It would be really a big step forward if RPi started to be able to load balance the CPU power automatically if I connect more than 1 together with GPIO or something, so RPi is no longer stuck at having 4c/8t, processing power scales. I am not looking at application level, I am looking for OS level. E.g. somehow RPi has docker architecture at OS level to schedule jobs to other RPi cpu cores. So in the Raspberian OS, it thinks that it has 16c/32t when connecting 4 RPi together. This is gonna be fun! Cheap solution that could achieve something demanding

Wow EtaPrime exciting stuff! You said it's a bit rough round the edges, and we're stuck with ethernet for internet. Where are we currently with WiFi? I want to run windows astro photography software on a Pi4 (it seems to be mostly .NET stuff so I'm hopeful). But the kit has to run wireless in the backyard, and remote desktop into it. Are we going to need to wait years here, or just a few months for fixes? Whats you're call on that?

Thanks for the great guide! One question though, having a bit of a problem with setting mine up. Everytime I go through the WOR Preinstallation setup, and select my destination disk it'll complete the installation, re-boot, and then put me right back to that same setup page. Never the final windows 11 setup walkthrough. Any idea what's going on?

I want to use this to run a monitoring application, so cost is more important to me than speed or space. I'm just using a flash drive (32GB) for now, but is there a way to clone this as an image or just copy it to another flash drive? It would be great if I could bypass the install process and only have to deal with the BIOS setup. Thoughts?

Hello! I have a quick question. I am doing a car project, and I need to run an android app on my raspberry pi. I have not been able to find an emulator for any of the arm Linux distros for raspberry pi 4. But I think I read somewhere that windows 10 arm is able to install emulators for Android. Is there any advice you can give me, I just bought a new ssd and wifi dangle since I know windows has to use Ethernet. Do you know if we are able to run Android apps on raspberry pi with windows 10/11 arm64 ?

From quickly looking at the git and the scripts, you could install this to an intel/AMD desktop linux debian distro as it just a yad front-end using common linux components and speed up certain bits.. In fact he does say it in the ReadME.txt.. lol.. the bottle neck being the downloading from Microsoft mainly.

Yeah, there should be an option for flashing an already downloaded iso instead of ms iso

@No Ta So every new version of the raspberry pi has bumped performance. They have an 8 GB version already and the performance of the raspberry pie 4B decent. I seriously doubt they're going to regress in performance. It's kinda of a weird response to assume it's not going to be faster? And it's overdue. Maybe they are a little behind because of the pandemic but had 2020 been a normal year I expected a new release by now.

@@0xDEAD_Inside well…it has acceleration thx to fan driver conversion but partially. 3D and 2d acceleration is here but only partial drm support and no hardware video decoding(only software hacks). So watch a twitch stream or watch Netflix with subtitles and you’ll see the pie just crash and burn on android.

Best used for Linux, if your running a server, remember windows 11 isn't free, vulkan Api runs on Linux, and yes alot of things also. If you need emulation I guess windows 11 will do but consider the downfalls.

So I did this and installed on a USB 3.0 flash drive. Apparently that is too slow so I am going to try again with an external SSD. It works, but gives me a paging file error even though I have set it manually.

Due to the processed being an ARM64 specific cpu, you can only run ARM64 specific exe files, not normal x64 or x86 exe files

@@DesicYT False. Windows 11 on ARM can run legacy x86 apps with emulation. Windows on ARM is just not viable without this fundamental x86 emulation support. As let’s face it, legacy x86 is forever, especially for corporate, government and industrial uses.

What do people get for disk speeds in on a USB 3 external SSD?? I get around 300MB/s in Linux but the same disk does not go any further than 95MB/s in Windows. I wonder if the drivers aren't optimized yet. Right now the experience is like running Windows 11 on a hard disk instead of an SSD.

I have used WoR Flasher to install Windows 10 on a non-generic 256GB micro sd card. When I put the new windows 10 sd card in, there is just a blank screen and after about 10 seconds the red and green indicator lights fade out but the pic is still on. I also cannot seem to get that menu when you press ESC. Any help? I’m really stuck

Can you set "Virtualization enabled in firmare" after installing windows 11 on raspberry pi 4. The WSL is not available because it's set virtualization to be disabled in firmware. Raspberry pi 4 is produced to enable virtualization in firmware. Please check this out.
