I don’t know if it was intentional but it looks like she created a warhammer which was developed initially in reaction to an increase in heavy armor, which would make sense when trying to shatter rather than pierce. The blunt end was used to stun or knock out the enemy while the sharp end was for grabbing, stabbing, and preventing from fleeing. If it was an intentional design choice I think it’s really cool they picked it.

I love the symbolism in this show. Philomelas ribbon untying as she runs towards Chise to me at least symbolizes her letting go of the past and grasping her future when she grabs chise's hand

The shot of philomela ontop of the roof is great as well because of the parallels to chise. Instead of Chise on the roof about to give up her life, it's now her reaching out to Philomela for help. Just like how she always wanted. I love this anime so much man

I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion or not but I really preferred when it was just her and Alias. I didn’t like season 2 nearly as much as season 1.

Season 2 has been divisive because of things like the school setting and the fey being out-of-focus compared to season 1. Personally, I think it was interesting to see the sorcerer side of the fantasy setting after seeing the magi side in season 1, and that the school setting was a great way to illustrate Chise and Elias' character growth and see them interact more with other characters. However, I can definitely understand disliking season 2's changes and I do think there were ways that the fey could've been more incorporated into season 1 (seeing more of Elias' class being one way).

Her and Elias's relationship was pretty much completed in season 1. From that point onwards it's more Chise growing and becoming a more powerful mage. As well as Chise and Elias growing closer to other people and not just focusing solely on each other. So Chise and Elias are both growing more emotionally mature
