Lindsay, I personally like mid to longer reviews because it helps me to be able to make better choices with my limited budget. So, please don't always think that you have to do short reviews if you think taking a little more time and discussion would help provide your viewers with more important and relevant information. Thanks for reviewing these!

Between the paint quality, the individual lids, the sturdy top with handle, the extra large pots with easy-open plastic, and the replacement pots with extra colors -- you're really making me want this stuff (and I've been able to resist buying new supplies for quite a while now!) Skipping through Petunia Field with a giant gouache case was quite a visual had me Rolan… So I solved this problem a long time ago and I got those little plastic pot strips that come in a multi pack, you know like the kind you would get for students or had when you were a kid with the paint by number set… Anyway, I fill those with my paint and I take it with me to classes and stuff. Plus because they’re connected, makes it easy to group certain colors together. Glad finally someone out there came up with lids!!😉🙏

Another great video!! I bought this set over a year ago and I love it. One of its best qualities is that you can turn it over and there are holes in the case to see through to the individual pots. Without any effort (turning over the case) you can see an accurate sample of your colors to pick your pallet for your artwork. Take care!

Enjoyed the review. The colors are really pretty, too. I got tube gouache and a clear beadholder with the little lidded pots in it, but I'm hoping I don't get it on the threads so I can't get them off. I think this style lid would be much more forgiving. It looks very sturdy, too. The petunia field sounds great! Thanks again!

*Lindsey! Another KZbinr who also got this set said the lightfast info is on their website and that most, if not all, of the colors are lightfast (to varying degrees, of course). Please note that I haven’t verified this yet!* I’m glad I held off on buying a jelly gouache until now, or rather three days ago, and I received it yesterday! I ordered it before I finished watching your vid(equal to your fave and better packaging was all I needed to hear). Bonus, I got it for 25% off so it was $41, not $60! Huzzah! I treated myself to the 4 piece brush set you recommended as well. I have a lot of watercolor brushes but the vast majority are rounds so the flats were welcomed.

Wonderful and informative review as always! Thank you Lindsay. I got inspired by your and Karen’s Sat Chat gelly printing session! You’ll be proud of me! (Maybe?) I tried to use what I had first, plexiglass and a rolling pin, but sadly it didn’t print very well. (Here comes the maybe, LOL) So after some failed attempts, I ended up buying a gel plate, (an off brand kind, but it was on sale?) because I tried using what iI had, and it didn’t work. It was either get a gel plate, or buy a print making press. XD and the press was out of my budget.

Hi, LIndsay, Amazon has a 25% coupon on the large set - at least as of today (12/2). Yay!! I also love that they have open stock (if 2 counts as "open stock"). Not so fond of the lids. I use a sheet of plastic wrap over the Himi cups, which really works well, especially when you are careful to press down the lid on all sides and corners. This is the best "Tupperware" container I have every seen. When it comes time to rehabilitate the gouache (mine lasts untouched for 3 months with no problem), taking each lid off the Art Whale product and making sure to put each lid back on the correct cup would not be fun. S.

I appreciate the heads up about the coupon! I am not sure I agree about the lids. I find them a huge improvement.

Hi there! Long time no see!! Even tho I won’t actually purchase a new set of jelly gouache, as I already own the himi ones, I totally love ur reviews AND loved the fact of this product coming with lids!!! Are they professional tho? Bc I think himi isn’t, not sure. Anyhow see yaaa
@thefrugalcrafterАй бұрын
Define professional, you could use them in professional design work as the handle and have a beautiful opaque matte finish but they are not all lightfast (but all companies have somevfugative colors) so it depends on what you need them for as to whether they are professional or not.
@Paintsplash4Ай бұрын
Just a warning. I have a set of Arttx gouache where I never opened them, left them in an unopened box, the box is wrapped in bubble wrap and the whole kit is in a plastic box, stored in a cool location (I got a good deal so had bought 2 sets, so I saved one to keep it fresh, LOL). After 2 years some of the unopened gouache are bricks. So lids help, but the gouaches can still dry out over time in those wide-mouthed containers. I also have one tube of Holbein gouache that dried out after a year (I think it was undisclosed old stock). Soooo keep that in mind on gouache. It has a bit of a shelf-life no matter what. For the price, I'd probably just get Anigoni and only open part of them. But these do look nice!
@thefrugalcrafterАй бұрын
That is such a good heads up, I'll keep that in mind!

It's alright 👍 I don't use quash but it's good to know. Thank you 😊. Could you take some of the jelly quash and put it in half pans and use it like watercolor?? Just curious 🤔.
@thefrugalcrafterАй бұрын
Sure but when you thin down gouache a lot it can be dull and chalky because it is designed to be opaque and watercolor is transparent.

A few months ago (August/Septebmer-ish?) I was in Five Below, and they had 12 color gouache set that also had lids. Of course, once I got home, other things grabbed my attention, so I hadn't had the chance to look at them, but quickly pulled them out today. I'll swatch them out after I finish this comment, but already I have one problem - nothing is marked. Not the lids, not the foil cover, not the container. This should be... fun?

I bought the basic set. Yes the paint is great I just wish they had included a white instead of the burnt umber. You can mix plenty of browns with the other colors but can’t paint much without white. If you give them feedback that would be helpful info.
