The issue at Kenya’s immigration isn’t about racism, but rather a problem that we as Africans initiated. For example, many of us have offered bribes to Kenyan airport and immigration officials, which has normalized the practice to the extent that they now see it as a regular part of their income. It’s people like you and me who started this cycle, and now they’ve become so accustomed to it that they might make things more difficult if you don’t offer a bribe. If we want to solve this problem, we must refuse the bribery and stand your ground and see how far they go. I’m praying that I come across this kind of corrupted officials but for some reason I never come across these idiots but I would love to come across them one day.
