Outstanding video. I thank you so much. I have been researching trikes for months and could not make up my mind on the Addmotor m-360 or the Lectric Trike. After watching your video I want the Lecteic based on the fact the motor is in the rear where it can do most good. Plus the fact they have redesign the drivetrain. Thank so much.

Here we are a year out and Lectric XP Trike is still selling. And so is the RAD Trike. I’ve done a lot of research on both, and so many owners have complained about damage to their Lectric Trikes when it arrived. Most common is fenders and bent wheels. Plus. A lot of customers have also complained about broken bearings after a few hundred miles. Nothing like this to the RAD bikes. I think people are caught up with the fact that you are getting more features for the money, but are you getting better quality? I really wanted the Lectric Trike, but based on this track record of bearing failures, etc, I’m leaning towards the RAD. They’ve been around for a long time and have built up a reputable/successful company. They build a solid trike with no issues. That means more to me than spending less just to get bling.

Sorry, I've never seen one in person yet. I think there might be a little room for it to move a tad bit closer to you, but I'm not 100% sure on that. If you reach out to Lectric Customer service, they would definitely be able to answer you accurately on that.

Yeah, I think they didn't think about this segment of the population... they were thinking 65+. I am 55 and have been an avid bike rider since I was 5... and 2 years ago I became disabled and walking long distances is difficult and tiring. I live in the hilly city of Seattle and have gone carless for 6 years so I always walked everywhere and used transit. There are a lot of little errands I could do with this trike (and I'll easily save a ton on not paying Uber for those short trips). I'm looking at getting one by the end of the year... if the backlog isn't 3 years out by then!

It's now 6 months later, the next batch is due in September, and the introductory offer is still holding. Why you might wonder. China is in a recession with factories closing. When someone has multiple choices in a business, the most profitable usually gets the nod. However, if the choice is between reduced profit, but still in the black, or shutting the doors, the nod goes to the black ink. In short, Lectric's suppliers are happy to extend the contract without re-negotiating. Lectric's management is very aware of a bear market for everything in the recreational category. The Trike falls in the mobility category for seniors and the mobility impacted. These customers have more incentive than someone looking for a hobby enhancement. The ranks of the partially disabled are swelling unexpectedly.

I have a QS205 5000w hubmotor laying around and was trying to find a fat tire trike to maybe build something, the 2wd and welding in rear dropouts for the motor were the biggest hurdles in my head because RWD is a MUST and this Lectric trike takes care of both of those ( I would buy just the frame if I could!). With this bike coming out it is an extremely great base for a electric bike builder. I can definitely see myself buying this ripping out stock motor, battery and controller, throw in the qs205 with a 150 amp controller, taking off rear fender and putting in 20x4 fat tires (15mm thru hubs), changing front fork for a 26x4.0 tire from a cheap Amazon fat tire bike all for less than $2.5k and rip. Great vid

My 82-year-old father is anxiously awaiting the arrival of his XP Trike sometime in April. I ride a recumbent tadpole trike (built for speed) and get a bit nervous with the high center of gravity and single wheel tipsiness. I'd love to see Lectric do a tadpole version (2-wheels in front) to get that over-stable stance for riders.

I've been wanting to review a #Lectric bike for years, but for some reason they just don't want to work with me 🤷♂. Maybe they are concerned I might compare their bikes to all the other bikes I have reviewed, idk....lol But then I saw this eTrike, which features a 1,092W peak motor, rear 2wheel drive, it's foldable with a weight capacity of over 400lbs and a price tag of only $1,499 when most etrikes are $2,500 Plus. It seems like a really great deal, sure I wish it went a little faster and I'd really like to test out how it handles hills on a 20Amp controller with just 65Nm of torque and 500W motor while hauling the max capacity weight of 400lbs. I've never had to buy a bike to test and review, but I might have to buy this one, then put it though some rigorous tests and give my honest opinion.

I bought my first 2 Lectric ebikes. I actually bought the 1.0 for my wife to go riding with me but I loved so much, I was riding that one a lot more. Being that its the top selling ebike model, the KZbin views skyrocket. That’s one reason when the 2.0 came out I jumped at buying it right away. It quickly became my favorite ebike and I sold the 1.0 for 1/2 what I bought it. There’s no hiding that I’m a huge fan of Lectric and all their products. Levi and Robbie continue to make some amazing bikes and if you get their trike and compare it to a competitor, I’m sure they’ll have nothing to fear when it comes to what someone gets for the price tag. I’m still amazed literally every single time I ride any Lectric ebike at how it performs for the price they sell them. By the way, I think the speed limitation is for safety reasons. Trikes can tip over so easily they probably need to keep it slower.

I would be very surprised if you aren’t blown away by how much better this trike motor pushes you up the hills that your 2.0 takes you on now. Levi said that it’s an upgraded 3.0 motor on the XP Trike, and the 3.0 motor is really powerful compared to the 2.0 which was pretty decent already.

Great video! I wonder the difference in the center of gravity (ie how easily will it tip) between the Rad Trike & the Lectric Trike. Also we should have a Socal Ebike meetup and if you're ever in the Santa Barbara area let us know and we could meet up to ride/film!
@EbikeProducts Жыл бұрын
I’m curious about the stability as well between the different trikes out there. Some of the other reviews on trikes are specifically saying 6mph is the fastest any turn should be made on them, so it seems they all need to be ridden carefully with regards to how easily you can tip. I’ll definitely hit you up if I ever head out there to SB! That would be awesome to ride and get some filming in too!
@timbuckingham6734 Жыл бұрын
The only time you would need to worry about tipping is in sharp corners & a side slope that is steep. As the trike made for on the road don't try to corner at hi speed, a little common sense. There is one trike that does 30 miles per hr. 3 or 4 inches don't make much difference at that speed.
@rampart1234 Жыл бұрын
14AH? Well that will get you around the block but nothing more.
@EbikeProducts Жыл бұрын
I would’ve thought the same thing but after riding the XPedition that has the same controller, it could be possible that a decent 40 miles per charge might be what most people may get from it. Lectric is claiming up to 60 miles. The way they have this new controller tuned is really innovative and feels very different than any other ebike I’ve ever ridden. I agree with you that 14ah seems small for a trike but we may be seeing a new measurement of the typical range we used to expect in the past.

Yes! It unlocks to a true class 3 and can do 27mph with pedals rotating. I forgot to mention the 11 tooth high gear and 52 tooth chain ring. This gearing allows you to keep helping the bike even at 27 mph if you want to help it be more efficient. This also means you can go faster than 28 mph on your own leg power. I have a long ride commentary video that really goes over in detail each PAS and how it feels. I’ll try to get it up soon. This is a really fast ebike and does class 3 performance with ease even with a load on it.

Everyone should know. I bought 2 lectric trikes for me and my wife last July. One of the trikes came with a bent wheel on the back, and the other one had two flat tires. Lectric ebikes sent us a new wheel but I bought new tubes for the tires. Now both bikes have bad rear axle bearings and the bikes are not usable. We have put 117 miles on one trike and 104 miles on the other all neighborhood riding. I sent video of the bearing movement, and noise. they told me I had to pack up the bike in original packing and ship it back 1000 miles just to get it fixed or replaced. I asked for a shop service manual but they refused. These bikes are cheaply made and service is poor. So much for savings.
