Keep the original wood paneled wall. It’s so beautiful and I don’t feel like it clashes with the rest of the wood tones in your space. I feel like you can definitely make it work with the right furniture and decor

For the kitchen wooden wall feature, a large tapestry could be hung, covering the majority of the wall, while being enhanced by the wood wall background. Just a thought!

Agree, please consider keeping the original mahogany wood feature wall - it is stunning! A large tapestry and/or art work would be a good fix to minimize the wood on wood on wood.

So good to see you back in your home. Don't apologize for feeling misplaced while your reno was going on. I totally understand! Now you can breathe out, relax, knowing you are home. Love all the hard work that you have put into your reno so far. As for the walnut wall, take your time. It's a precious thing to have as much original workmanship and history as possible. Live with it for at least a year. Ideas will come and go. When you find the right answer you will know. Same with the furniture placement. In the meantime enjoy the heck out of all of it .

So happy for you and Andrew that you are finally back in your home - no matter what anyone says the stress from the upset in your routine is very real. Even though you know its temporary it still takes its toll. The beams and the floor look beautiful. God bless Andrew for tackling the task of all that sanding; that is such a tedious job. Things are starting to come together nicely. Love your desk!! Adding the accessories around the sofa in your bedroom seating area actually improves the impression of the scale of the sofa so it doesn't appear as small. I'm obsessed with that vintage desk! Welcome back Arvin ! Agree with the wood panels by the kitchen. You can always replace those panels somewhere else since they are part of the home originally. Love the desk setup and how much you where enjoying it. I'm so happy to see you being so happy . You guys have been through a lot with this renovation but you made it. Be proud. Too much wood tones? Well I’d keep the original pannels and change the wood table with a marble table and a big rug for the floor. But it’s your house and you will end up with something beatiful like always. About 1st world problems... sometimes when I feel ’’depressed’’ for some reason or a little problem I have, I realize how privileged and lucky I am for thinking that this particular situation is even a problem.

you can solve the problem with the mahogony panels by installing a curtain wall. Thus will add so must softness to the space and is totally in keeping with the MCM historical house.

Please don't stain or varnish it, as its a showstopper just the way it is! I also love vintage furniture, you just can't buy such high quality pieces anymore. The vintage piece you are showing us is called a "Secretary." It's a hide away desk that can go nearly anywhere in the home. I love your idea of using it as a side table and it looks wonderful styled with your candles. I can't wait to see your home complete with rugs! I just know it's going to look and feel fabulous!

I'm loving all your pieces, but more so it's lovely to see you have so much fun again 🙂 Only a few words of advice now you are back, and I'm pretty sure you will have had this from others. You put the tears in, then Andrew put the sweat in, then you both likely had many a weep over your ceilings. The advice? Hang tight on doing anything more at all to them. Get pro advice. How will the wood age? What is the gentlest finish? What finish will last best and/or longest. Live with them...they can't come to any harm, and then see which direction you want to go. For now, it's gorgeous to look at that lovely wood - well done both of you 💕
