I'm going in October on a trip. I think depending how full the plane is I may decide to wear one during travelling out as I want to stay well for my travels but on my way back, I'm cool. My experience of travelling with KLM is is that they are decent. The food is high quality, the aircraft clean and entertainment good however the new aircrafts have a lower ceiling and space is very tight. The flight attendants can moody or very warm

How were the comfort of the seats in economy? We are looking at a direct flight from Austin to Amsterdam and are debating if we should pay for the economy comfort or if it’s not worth the $$! Did you carry on luggage? Do you know if they are strict on dimensions? We have one that is .5 - 1inch off!

Great review! I will be flying on KLM for the first time from New York JFK to Delhi via Amsterdam. I was wondering, since I saw the Indian meal in this review. Did you order a special meal? AVML or was the veg option on this flight? And also I did not see any crackers or butter served with the meal. I only saw bun and cheese. I hope they can add crackers and butter as well. Thanks in advance for answering my questions :)

Over the moon at not having to wear a mask on a long haul flight, was dreading it for my flight to NY in sept. But BA have also changed their mask policy so won’t have to wear one. I never really understood it the theory behind masks on a plane as everyone on board would have tested negative beforehand so the chances of spreading it would have been slim.

I think at this point of almost 3 years of pandemic, most (if not all) of us are COVID fatigue. I am glad to see mask policy is optional, assuming most of us have been double, triple or even quadruple vaccinated (those who don't for whatever reason, at your own risk). I like the freedom of choice to wear mask or not. I personally will wear on flights of any duration (not because of being germaphobic nor not trusting the HEPA filtration on airplane), but it is based on individual circumstance and also to me it is just not a big deal to wear one. BTW, excellent detailed review.

BA changed their mask policy last week.

Most airlines flying transatlantic have removed the mask requirement. Exceptions are Lufthansa and Air France I think. There are still some passengers wearing, but not the majority.

I'm not 100% sure but I think airlines wanted to keep mask rule for safety but were told to remove it by some eu body and instead advise mask usage

I don’t think EU can rule independent countries regarding this since Air France, ITA and Lufthansa still require mask. I fully respect everyone still using it, and therefore I think that recommendation is a good solution.

Do you know if you don't have to wear a mask on all KLM flights? I am going to travel Amsterdam-Rio de Janeiro. And do you need to show that you are vaccinated against covid?

No mask needed on KLM. Just to certain countries. Regarding vaccination it’s a good idea to take a look at the IATA page. Thanks for watching!
