This volume is the best in the whole 14 volumes. This is a fact of life that you need to except - that means I will go on a rampage should 2/3 of the plot get cut. I have never been more exited and yet terrified of an adaptation in my LIFE!

Kiba, I have a question! I’m really stuck trying read through the lite novels retreading basically the same content I watch in the anime a half dozen times, I’m stuck on volume 9, have been for about a year! do you think it would be okay to just read volume 12 & 13 maybe relaunch from there?

volumes 12 and 13 are gonna be in this upcoming movie and the anime has covered up to volume 14. So if you’re trying to get into content that HAS NOT been covered by the anime, then yes volumes 12 and 13 would be what you want to read. However reading them WILL SPOIL THE MOVIE FOR YOU so keep that in mind if you don’t want to be spoiled. As for continuity, like I said volumes 12 and 13 are kind of their own story in a separate part of the world so I don’t think you’ll be too lost if you just jump into them. Hope that answered your question.

I don't think think 12+13 was skipped for S4 because its in a "whole different part of the world" considering the dwarven kingdom wasn't skipped? Its pretty far away too. I think the more likely reason is just, with 3 novels per season, season 4 would have only adapted one half of the holy kingdom, which doesn't flow well. I still worry cramming 2 novels in one movie will result in similar rushing as cramming them into 1/3rd of an anime season, butovies tend to have better visuals so the cool fights of that arc are gonna *shine* in the movie. So brutal. Edit: the holy kingdom is still close enough to the other human kindoms to be considered a neigbor, they are considered in empire and theicracy polotics, its not as much "far off land" as much as "more interesed in civil unrest rather than expantion"
