Finally Received My Smoke Box - RECTEQ Smokebox for RT-700 Unboxing and Setup

Here is a video I made of my new Recteq Smokebox unboxing and setting it up on my RT-700 smoker.
I have been waiting several months for this Smokebox to become available. I had been placed on an email list that would notify me once Recteq had this item back in stock. Once I received the email, I placed my order within an hour or so. Lucky I did, they sold out within hours.
I’ve been looking forward to doing some real cold smoking of sausages and fish for awhile now. Due to it being winter here in Colorado with temps at or below freezing, I will have to wait until Spring to really give the new smokebox a try.

i ordered mine as soon as I received the email too. i installed it today on my 1250 after smoking some baby backs and it fits like a glove. the only difference between the 700 and the 1250 is i could not use the spacer since the 1250 has the upper shelf that prevents the ring from being installed. i used it on the inside of the smokebox on the exhaust just to use it, not necessary though. Like you, i cant wait to use it this summer wish the trout that we catch.. The other benefit of installing it, is it gave me a reason to clean the inside of the smoker.🙂

Nice job filming and putting it together. The only possible issue I can see now in it's shown location the exhaust is against the wall. Be careful

Thanks James for the kind words. I always move my grill and smoker away from the wall when grill'n. Check out my other videos and you'll see how i usually have things setup. I appreciate you looking out though.

Had the same problem with availability but got one in Jan. On an RV trip looking forward to smoking as soon as I get back.

Mine doesn't move too far on my balcony, just enough to get away from the siding. Thankfully, I have yet to experience any issues with the wheels on mine.
