FINALLY RIDING EVERY DIRT JUMP WE’VE BUILT!! PLAYGROUND EP18

After weeks of digging and trail building at The Playground. We’ve moved some much dirt and built loads of dirt jump lines but haven’t had the chance or the weather to ride them properly and do MTB tricks on all the features. So this episode is all about riding and testing every dirt jump, along with Ben and Jamie who rode their jump bikes through these epic backyard trails for the first time! Loved this video and the whole series. It’s the only thing I make sure I watch the day it comes out. Good on you Jamie for completing the main line, well stoked for you. Might not be true to form but might be a good idea putting some clear grip tape on the surf board. The wax is awesome but with it melting in the sun might cause an injury especially if someone else tries it for the fist time. Great riding as always Matt and Ben. How about a 180 berm/bowl corner at the top of the side line ( 7:02 ) then drop back in to the step up and then you could use the landing of the racer as a take off and build a landing right where you landed then connect the trail back to the surf board! Could be pretty sweet, Love the series!

thats how you know this is really coming along great when you can combine the lines without changing any features. If you keep line transfers in the back of your head when building or tweaking features you can make the possibilities endless and probably turn some stuff into loops and the flow could go on endlessly till your body gives out

I’d love to see a berm at the top of the step up landing after the racer into the quarter pipe, then you could transfer to main line and it could be endless!!! You could also put a transfer section after hitting the racer backwards into pipe line, so many options!

I've been working on losing all of the weight I've gained since leaving the Marines so I can dirt jump again. Started at 340lb /154kg and have so far lost 20lb/9kg in just under 4 weeks. Gonna stick with it. drop another 120lb and I'll be on the trails riding again. Thank you for the motivation and the goal.

You know often times I see Jamie and Ben doing all of this for basically the first time and I am feeling some pity hahaha. Not because they aren't absolutely shredding it, because they are, but that they work worth bikes and trails with a professional rider that is constantly one upping them even if he isn't trying to. And ik that all of you have put an equal amount of blood, sweat, and tears into these lines so your all just pumped to not be completely dead by now. You need to remove the wax from the surf board… the wheel of your bike will always slip. Remove all the wax… your tire will grip and you can wall ride 👍🏼

Yea the wax is a good idea in theory but mtb tires are sticky and the wax is for in water use so it’s fine and better without wax

Just awesome to see all the work come together in a way that gives you so many choices. The idea of adding a horse shoe turn coming back form the half pipe would be needed so you can keep using that valley! However, I was thinking on the far end by the 9 iron where you begin the return by the pond....add a whale tail on the hill so you can either take the return back to the rest of the Playground or hit the whale tail and go in a completely new section (Back 9?). I know you've moved on from golf terms but it made sense at the time. :D It was great to see Ben ride again and congrats to Jaime. You have grown so much in the past year I'm just stoked to see you ride the entire mainline! Love the work, love the output and love to see you supporting one another positively! This park is SO SICK! I'm so glad that I stumbled on this channel at the beginning of this build. It's always an easy click for a first watch when I hop onto KZbin, and I am never disappointed by what is in store! Keep up the great work, this is easily one of the coolest builds out there! Would love to see another group ride with more people / friends of yours who haven't been a part of the build to see what their take on the available tricks would look like! The way that the quarter flowed into Main Line was dope as hell! This thing is really coming together!

I have a couple improvement ideas/suggestions: 1. Change the surf board to a 45 degree angle. It could still be used as a wallride, but now could be used as a hitching/jumping off post too (270 off of it, barspins, etc.). 2. I think it would flow a lot smoother if the landings were steeper. It sounds like the impact is hard when landing and you are losing some speed. Ideally, maybe if they had a little bit of a 'lip' so you can pump them for speed (and fun). If they are steeper and have a little lip you could have the added benefit of using them as jumps on other lines coming back the other direction. And for lines that cross perpendicular you could use the landings as wallrides! Everything would flow better. Just my opinion.
