Hi ! Scooby nerd here ! In some versions it’s Fred’s car and in some it’s shaggy’s but Fred always drives . Unless he can’t , then he calls shaggy or scooby before Velma or Daphne .

In the mystery begins Daphne owns the van. But in the regular show it’s Fred’s van (they even call it Fred’s van in moon monster madness), but in the shorts “those meddling kids” they mention that shaggy was the one who found the van, they also let shaggy borrow it on occasion

My theory about Velma, if we insist that it is not in an alternative reality, is that the events that take place in it are non-canon but the story is canon as a story. "Velma" says at the beginning that this is sort of a "what really happened" type of tale. It sort of presents itself as being from Velma's POV. So it's a specific interpretation of events. It doesn't work as the end of the timeline, even though it involves the death of Scrappy because the characters are in high school. It's odd for it to fit in the middle somewhere, as this would mean that at some point Shaggy begins to go by Norville and then reverts to going by Shaggy again (which is possible, but odd) and that Scooby just... stops hanging around them with no mention and then reappears later. And it ignores that the show portrays this as them uniting for the first time. My theory is that this is either: A) Some sort of bizarre person obsessed with Velma from Scooby-Doo within the universe who is telling a story as if she is Velma. B) A fan-fiction where the author in question is inserting themselves as Velma, but doesn't expect the audience to take it seriously; or C) Is a telling of actual events by Velma but from her skewed perspective, told in such a way to perhaps help her cope with either panic attacks brought about the logic-defying existence of actual monsters and magic or to cope with some sort of other graphic event. Maybe the majority of events are technically canon, but several details are wrong because Velma is an unreliable narrator.

So one major problem about the Goblin King movie being in this timeline, and where you place it. In that movie Velma sees magic and literally has a panic attack saying: "Logical mind shutting down" if it took place where you put it, then she would have SEEN magic before. Like several times already. So what was her deal there? Also I refuse to accept Return to Zombie Island and Curse of the 13th Ghost canon. They try to retcon a bunch of stuff just to make it so "There's nothing supernatural" and screw that. These movies are an insult to fans of the original material.

As a fellow frothingly mad Scooby Doo enthusiast, I loved the depth of your research. We finally have a grand unified timeline of the franchise! I take some personal issue with parts of it, though: I can't accept the retconning that the 2019 movie trilogy did. Zombie Island made it absolutely clear the revival movies took place in the gang's adulthood, with that offhand comment about a summer camp in The Curse of the 13th Ghost amounting to a retcon in my opinion. However, your research and its methodology are completely self-consistent. You said you were going to include as much as possible, and you did so via only what was stated onscreen/on the page/whatever, and aside from the previous issue I feel no choice but to accept your general timeline. As for why animals talk: Mystery Inc could be canon regardless of the validity of Fred's parents- the show undid itself with the death of the villain, after all, and Scooby and Pericles were still talking, enchanted/alien-blooded animals even with the Evil Entity retroactively never existing. Lastly, Scooby and Shaggy Get a Clue doesn't directly contradict any of this to my knowledge, so when did Shaggy and Scooby get superpowers and fight a Venture Bros. villain? EDIT: Caught the entry on the Big Black Screen, yeah I'd say it takes place after WNSD too.

It's his appearance in the Scooby-Doo movie, the first one. Apparently everyone hated him & hated that he was the villain, I was like 8 when that movie came out so obviously I was just hyped to see a live action Scooby-Doo movie. But yeah, ever since that movie, they have always spoken about Scrappy as if he's some great embarrassing tragedy lol. He is Scooby-Doo's nephew, so that seems a little harsh, but still.

Everything is canon, but not everything is in the same continuity or timeline. So there are several series that can be in one timeline while others are canon in the other timeline. For example where are you and 13 ghost of Scooby are canon and in the timeline as mystery incorporated.

I could swear they were supposed to be young adults in the zombie island movie. At least early 20s. Though it has been awhile since I watched it last. The return to zombie island however, I remember a little more and that at least Velma if not most or all of the gang didn’t remember anything about the island or visiting it or anything; being confused about everything going on and confused about what was being said about it and their visit. Which makes sense when you think about how Wikipedia describes it as “a stand-alone sequel/retcon reboot…from a different creative team”. I think I’ve also heard some theories somewhere about if mystery incorporated was canon, a lot of the shows would essentially be a diverging timeline because of the show ending the way it did. Like, all the stuff where real monsters don’t exist are from the timeline after the end of mystery incorporated and the previous timeline is where the real monsters exist. I think it’s not canon only because of the logistics not quite working with them still at home and in high school through that series and only graduating at the end of the series…almost directly after destroying the entire universe that could potentially have held the real monsters. Interesting theory still tho. And fun.

Mystery Inc IS cannon - it's a prequel or sequel AFTER scooby doo where are you due to the timeline reset, which we would could argue (due to ease) "Where are you" is the sequel. I'd consider some of these movies not cannon Also 17-19 is considered young adults, especially if in college/60s

I was told somewhere that there are three different realities of Scooby doo and one of them is ended by the events of mystery Inc which also starts a second reality The second is started by events of a pup named Scooby doo but is merged with the end of mystery Inc. And the final by the cyberpunk movie which is just a simulation in which many things are missing from the other two timelines including scrappy doo. (The simulation is also where the Scooby movie takes place) Apparently the other two seasons of scrappy Doo are also in a separate reality from the first season. One reality where scrappy remains loved by the gang and another that leads to the events of him becoming a villain in the second live action movie. (I forget which reality is which tho)

Scooby Goes Hollywood is pretty clearly supposed to be set in the 'animated actors' verse as Scooby is mentioned as being a saturday morning star. As far as I can tell moving it to that one doesn't really cause any major problems.

Just so you know, the Scooby-Doo! Mystery of the Fun Park Phantom is considered abondonware and you can download an ISO of it and install it on a modern PC from an abandonware site. If I remember right, there's actually at least 2-3 timelines because in the main series, Scooby is NOT an alien, but in one of the movies, I believe around the time of Phantosaur (though idr which specifically), Scooby can talk BECAUSE he's an alien. So I'm pretty sure your timeline is wrong.

Fuck Return To Zombie Island, that shit show can't be cannon because in the movie, they're suddenly high schoolers yet in the first Zombie Island, they not only had jobs but Velma OWNS her own bookstore. That and in Return To Zombie Island, they make it out as if all that was fake when they literally watched the zombies get laid to rest and the ghost of a Confederate Soldier salutes Scooby and tells him thanks and the FBI Agent, Bo lost his camera AND the camera Fred was using fell in quicksand. Also they saw Lena, Simone, and Jacques fade away yet Velma and Daphne are like maybe that was fake and Shaggy and Scooby almost had their life-force drained before the ZOMBIES helped, yet Shaggy just conveniently forgets all of that. It's bullshit and ruins my favorite Scooby-Doo movie.

Original show's run has me thinking that Shaggy and Fred are draft dodgers in that one and Velma is just a best friend of Shaggy and Daphne being Fred's girlfriend also it took place during a economic depression with quite a number of businesses either being abandoned or nearly closing down My theory would have Fred and Shaggy being either 17 or 18 for the original series I would say the 90's and 2000's Scooby-Doo gang would be in there 20's possibly early 30's A Pup Named Scooby is the hardest one to pin down because continuity is all over the place the saddest truth is that Scooby-Doo if not a cartoon couldn't have survived from childhood of the gang to young adult age gang because bigger breed dogs tend to have the most amount of health problems heart issues, muscle problems, and even bones weakening Great Danes being so large by comparison to most other dog breeds life expectancy is 13 years with good diet

I definitely disagree with a lot of this video. Trying to make as much as possible canon requires a LOT of stretched logic. And things can be canon to the same thing without being canon to each other. Just look at Star Wars. The original and prequel trilogies are canon to both legends and Disney but legends isn’t canon to Disney. Also George jetson has already been born. The jetsons is the near future for us. And there are so very many reasons trick or treat doesn’t work in canon. Which makes sense. It feels like some kid was just trying to make a dark edgy fanfic to be like the cool teens. And it does a fairly good job showing how absurd some fan theories are. But despite all that I’m just glad someone finally decided to do something like this. So thanks 😊
