Theory: Sombra is not a true alicorn and used dark magic to enchant the amulet that would allow him to become one. He likely lost the amulet during his battle with Luna and Celestia. Being the amulet's true master, he is the only one that can become an alicorn if wearing it.

I know some people are going to ask why Tricia didn’t become an alicorn when she put the amulet on. Well, I might just have the answer: So, the alicorn amulet is owned by Sombra, right? And he has a very powerful magic which is almost, if not equaled, if not STRONGER than twilights magic. So my theory is the amulet only makes unicorns(kinda racist) with powerful magic an alicorn. Now now he did say that alicorn needed magic from all three tribes and if the alicorn amulet made the user an alicorn it should make other unicorns alicorns while wearing it. But, that statement is wrong. The alicorn amulet probably has a kind of magic that can sense if the unicorn has enough magic to become an alicorn, so the “gReAt AnD pOwErFuL” Trixie might not have been an alicorn because, well, she was not powerful enough. But, other powerful unicorns like starswirl or starlight might become an alicorn if they wear it.

I still believe that Queen Astelle the older sister of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna from Princess Trixie Sparkle Episode 10 Astelle tells Trixie who was in Twilight’s body that the Alicorn Amulet belongs to her and I am not ready to let that theory go yet 🤔.

True the mystery of pretty but you got to admit it could be the best possibility of who made the Alicorn Amulet because Queen Astelle is the best choice of who could have made the Alicorn Amulet because again she did say it belonged to her and an till any other proof shows up I am still sticking with the fact that queen Astelle made the Alicorn Amulet. 🤔

I can’t see Sombra an x Alicorn but I can see him being a really powerful unicorn and studying powerful dark magic similar to starlight glimmer using time travel magic or other really strong and powerful magic.

some of these ppl havent read the comics have they- yall realise a creature cant just magically unbecome an alicorn bu sucking away some magic, cozy glow got her alicorn form bc the bell contained grogars magic, and we dont even know how powerful grogars magic rly is but we know he can change a creatures atanomy- cozy got grogars magic and just got it away, the bell and the amulet arent the same- bell: sucks a creatures magic and when exposed to another they get power. Sombra is an "Umbrum" meaning they are shadows that take a skeleton form of a pony when they dont want to be in their original state (shadow form), and we know sombra isnt all that powerful, if he goes against someone like chrysalis or tirek hes gonna loose...

When he brought up Tirek, I thought that maybe he could have stolen some alicorn magic before his first imprisonment in Tartarus. The color palet also fits him perfectly - except for the white mane. Tirek could have stored some magic in that amulet, but lost it after his defeat.

The amulet may contain a certain amount of magic that would specifically tip Sombra over the edge into alicornhood. Base Trixie is most likely weaker than base Sombra so she'd need a greater amount of magic to turn her into an alicorn.

whether or not you believe the comics are canon if you look into them I believe they actually tell you that Sombra isn't even a pony in the first place. at least from my understanding with the little bit I've seen Sombra is actually a monster that looks like a pony perhaps Sombra could have created the alicorn amulet in hopes that it could stop Celestia and Luna therefor calling it the alicorn amulet because it was supposed to allow him to rival alicorns by amplifying his own power. but that wouldn't make him stronger than the elements of harmony. it might be a bit of a can of worms to open but it could be possible

If zombra was an alicorn before he was a bad alicorn thats why he lost his wings taking the power to the amulet which makes zombra more evil or maybe he is the one destroy the old place of the sisters live because the alicorn sisters might have stolen his magic using the alicorn amulet also everyone notice that there is no info about boys being alicorns so thats why he became an ex alicorn because boys cannot be alicorn only girls which make him wanna destroy lands and make everyone suffer in their job which that alicorns are not pure good that make zombra evil is because of the alicorns i wonder why?
