Thanks for preserving sawtooth’s videos after what happened with them. Their actions were terrible, but the idea of losing these videos that I grew up with forever is hard to swallow. I’m glad I can at least revisit them, even if it’s bittersweet now Edit: fixed pronouns

Sawtooth Waves really carried my early dive into the KZbin community. I always loved it when they uploaded new videos and watched them until the very end. When I found out what Sawtooth did, I had a hard time adjusting. I even had a dream last night about the whole issue being a April Fools Day prank. I had a lot of trouble really believing it. I felt like I lost a part of myself. It was even worse when I saw all of their videos were gone. I'm happy that this channel was able to recover Sawtooth's videos so I can have a little bit of my life back.... Even if I know the damage has been done.

I have come to a conclusion that the event that starts the loop in the first place was something horrible happened in equestria so the first twilight decided to search for a way to get back in time to tell past twilight but couldn't explain what happened clearly so the second twilight thought of everything and fix every detail that could started the disaster in the first place but she figured that the disaster was her worried about nothing so she searched for the spell and started the loop

What this theory explains is what caused the time loop, but not what stopped it. As in, how did Twilight even move on from this, beyond the meta reason that the episode ended out-of-universe? As of yet, there are two proposed explanations I've seen: 1. Celestia realized what was happening, by the end of one of these time loops, and managed to correct the timeline for some form of her magic, or 2. Multiverse/parallel timelines, where in one of said universes or timelines, Twilight figures out how to stop herself from repeating the loop, thus resolving the overall conflict of the episode.

this type of loop doesn't require a way to 'fix' it. twilight isn't stuck reliving it endlessly because once she was done accidentally sparking the loop she returned to her own moment in time. most iterations of the loop are stable and consistent, making it so that there's no rewriting or splitting of history. as for the original [and who knows how many loops needed to bridge that gap] it's possible that the spell was designed to gently 'blend' the potential timelines but that the original was lost from constant repetition and alteration [starswirl would want to know what he was undoing when he naturally reached his future self's moment, meanwhile starlight would just need a couple of tweaks to make it so the person returned as though there wasn't any alterations for the revenge plot] or it resulted in one [or two-three?] doomed timelines that we don't see not bashing i just... this isn't like majora's mask

Every time i rewatch the video, i also rewind to the "Challenge Accepted" part when Past Sawtooth ends up going back in time. I only rewind once, but my love for time travel wont let me just watch it once.

The paradox in this episode was so obvious to me the "twist" ending ending didn't surprise me in the lest, the paradox in short is how can someone go back in time to warn of a disaster that if they solve they wouldn't go back in time to warn in the first place; what did she expect to happen why was she making panicking when things weren't changing did she think things would change until she stops going back? that would make the initial experience a hallucination.

What would the disaster be? What would cause it so that og past Twilight would tell future Twilight that there would be a disaster? Why did she use a time-travelling spell rather than focusing on the problem she had? Unless it was like, the world ended, the last thing she could do was at least save the other ponies that were on a different timeline, and then die with the rest of the world, (and what that Twilight prevented would’ve caused that?) then why focus on future timelines?
