FINALLY Some Cosmetic Mods for the LS3 1969 Camaro! BLACKED OUT!

After 18ish months of working on the mechanical side of my LS3 swapped 1969 Camaro, I finally got to do some cosmetic modifications. Starting with blacking out all the chrome accents and windows. What a transformation! Lots more to come!

It's nice being able to take apart trim pieces with a screwdriver or socket as opposed to a newer vehicle. Prying on everything and hoping nothing breaks

Great Job. Great choices for pro-touring car. I would suggest one change. Go with the bullet style door mirrors, found on second gen Camaros. Also, paint them to color match car. They look great on 1st gen Camaro.

Awsome video man! My dad has a real 1969 Z/28 original camaro that is paint code 57 which is fathom green and he also has a 1969 convertible camaro that is rs converted, he's owned both cars for 30+ years and whats so cool to me is seeing the little spots of original paint left. Such as in the underside of the truck I can see some red still which is just cool. I checked the stamp and it was paint code 52 which is garnet red, both of my dads camaros were made in the same factory, Norwood Ohio. So maybe these cars saw each other in the production line lol. Awsome video man, I will be using your video to replace the windshield on the z/28 because it has a few chips. Awesome job man!

Looks great, If you ever need to replace the glass , Fesler glass is trim less and requires no body work.

Just a tip. I realize this shouldn't be a big deal since this car will mostly be in your garage when you aren't in it, and it was only door lock keys and not ignition keys, but you still don't want to ever show your keys on film. People can make copies from just that. Just a good habit to get into of never showing keys so you don't ever accidentally show something important.

I installed auto glass from 1975 until 1981... You were extremely lucky in getting out the windshield without breaking it.. There is a NO warranty on Breakage of used glass at ANY glass shop in the USA...... The tempered Back Glass is usually no problem..... Carry on ......

Do you have a prescription for your eyes because the police will pull you over for them beening that dark? I went threw that with the police in the 80's. That’s one sweet looking ride! I’ve looked for many years for a 69 that was worth building and gave up and ordered a Corvette back in 2014 which since then I’ve done many upgrades to. She is my barn queen only putting 32K on her since delivery. The only thing that would have looked better would have been to flush fit the front and rear windshield’s like they do at Kendigit shop. Still one fine ride!

The installation that was done on the car before you purchased it was a bit sloppy.... Butyl tape sets work well on that era of car... Someone used Urethane tape ( probably for legal purposes) then ( at least it looked to me) used some butyl sealant from a tube as they were not comfortable with their work......

Chris, adjust the drivers side wiper arm up just a tad. When you’re driving the car it could come down and hit the freshly powder coated trim.

Chris, it looks great, but what about the window tint laws in NH? How are you going to get that past inspection? Even if it passes, aren't you worried about getting a ticket? (I'm assuming you don't have a doctors note for you eyes that says you can have the tint)

I was just rewatching this video to see how I remove the chrome trim lol. Whats cool is that your Camaro was made in Norwood, Ohio and so was ours. So essentially, our camaros met at one point in 1969.

Don’t know how I came across your videos but I can say you have a lot of good content but those wheels you have on the Camaro has to go I used to have them on my 1979 Chevy c10 and I would always get bad time from my friends about those wheels you should consider a better style of wheels to much of a car for some cheap wheels

Is it legal to tent the entire windshield there?To be street legal here the rules allow for windshield tint down to the manufacturer's AS-1 line, which is demarcated in small letters and numbers on the glass - if you cannot see an AS-1 line, then the tint must reach no farther down than five inches from the top of the windshield.

Yeah the mirrors definitely have some orange peel. That's the nature of powder coat sometimes. I may cut and polish it here shortly.
