Finally! TREK Roscoe 7 | A Beginners Review Of A Premium Mountain Bike MTB

When I found out my 2022 TREK Roscoe 7 MTB preorder wasn't going to be fulfilled because of the significant parts shortage, I searched Walmart to purchase a different mountain bike, Schwinn Axum, as another popular KZbin bike reviewer suggested. After riding a Walmart mountain bike for over a year, these were my thoughts and reactions to what my first premium mountain bike felt like. I don't review mountain bikes for a living, so hopefully, this will give someone a different perspective.

Lol don’t feel bad. In one way shape or form I knew I was going to wait. Besides on the bright side it allowed me to pay over time. The family loves riding so we go almost every weekend. I find time here and there when little man doesn’t want to ride with me and I’ll practice and hone skills.

I’m just getting started and riding a 80’s GT currently. Made the mistake of test riding a Roscoe 7 Saturday. I couldn’t get the smile off my face. Amazing bike. Almost ready to pull the trigger. Also, little man can shred!

Enjoyed your review. I'm no mtb expert either but I know enough to know you made a great choice! The Roscoe is a quality hardtail.. Almost went with it myself but decided on the less expensive Marlin 7 to ease back into the sport.

The one time I tried to mount it on him he was way too squirrelly and the footage (even on boost) was pretty shaky. Most of our videos are of him riding and they don’t get hits like the bike review vids do. To my point the video we uploaded last week barely broke 100 views BUT my one Roscoe vid had 1k within a week. But… stay tuned, I’ll see if I can find a good enough mount/location to get solid footage of him not since he’s a little more stable.

It’s pretty nice! You’ll notice small things at first. Components sound better, work smoother, adjust more accurately, (stay in adjustment longer). And eventually you’ll feel more confident because the platform is more stable and confident inspiring. You’re gonna love it!

When we started looking we were the same way. Stuck between XC/walking path bikes, or a trail oriented HardTails. It took us a year to realize how many MTB trails We had around us and once little man started riding, it became clear we wanted trail bikes. The Roscoe 7 is fantastic. If you can afford it, you won’t regret it.

Picked my 7 up a couple weeks ago it’s amazing compared to the Jamis bike I have had the last 10 years. Night and day. The geo is amazing on these Roscoe’s. I have the R8. Major upgrade from an Axum to a Roscoe. I have much respect for the Axum for what it is but the Roscoe is many levels up. Enjoy that bike buddy!

Call me cray, but I LOVE that beige color! I’m no expert but looking at specs and components, the 9 has to be one of the best hard tails for 2022/23. That’s a really solid choice!! We’ll keep our fingers crossed that it comes in for you next week mate!

Yeah I researched more than I’ll admit lol. Google, KZbin, and PinkBike for months before pulling the trigger. A huge factor for me was living 5 miles from a big TREK store With some really awesome people.

I got the same bike just a few days ago! Same color too. It’s my first “nice” mountain bike and I think it’s money well spent. Still have yet to take it on a real trail with my wife together. I’m sure it will be a blast , also , I think you forgot to mention , the wheels are tubeless and I think it makes them a little lighter because of it. Overall the bike rolls great and feels light. Going fast is so easy on it.

Great call out! Yes I think it’s the first generation of Roscoe to be tubeless right out of the box. Also you are correct, it cuts a few pounds off as well. Congratulations on the bike! What color scheme are you thinking about going with?

Aw man, I’m jealous. I finally got my teenager on a Marlin like mine (I have an older 7, he has a ‘22 Marlin 5) but we’re strictly gravel riders. I would love to try out a Roscoe 7 just for the air fork, slacker geometry, beefier axles and that sweet rear hub but I need to get in better shape and drop some weight before I can justify an N+1.

@@graysonmtb upgrading everything is completely unnecessary. Don't get that idea in your head. Be satisfied with your purchase and enjoy it without thinking twice. Spend your money, if you choose to, on some top tube storage for tools and stuff you normally carry in your pockets.

Roscoe 7 is a great bike. In our family we have bought a 7 for myself, my wife a 6. Little kid got a Roscoe 24. Big kid now has the 6 and my wife has decided she just wants full suspension so we upgraded her. Lol Roscoes are definitely nice.

Nice! I love my 7! My wife still rocks the schwinn Al comp but this weekend we’re upgrading the form to a JUDY then we’ll do a wheel set and convert to a 1X. Little man was going to get a Roscoe 20 but I found a deal on a new riprock that I couldn’t pass on

@@graysonmtb Riprock is sweet for sure. They weren't on sale when we bought the Roscoe 24. We splurged for my wife and grabbed her an Ibis Ripmo AF. Was well worth it since they were on sale. Has made a huge difference in her riding. She loves riding even more than she already did. Lol

Hi Grayson! Awesome video, can’t wait to get mine! Are you possibly able to do me a favour and measure the width of the top tube? As much I don’t want too use it, I’ll have to use my hanging bike rack on my Wrangler until I get a better bike rack and I want to make sure the width of the top tube will fit.

Nice!! I just checked the top tube width. At its thickest it’s 2”(near the neck and seat post) at the thinnest 1.7” (between neck and seat post)

I just bought Roscoe 7 2023 in size M and there is seat post in size 150mm that can go full down to the frame. Is that possible or they sell me wrong size?

I think it’s a confidence thing. As adults we know what it feel like to be laid up for a week, slip a disc, break an arm. These kids are fearless because all they’re focusing on is the pure joy of riding.

Par contre je changerai le mono plateau de 30 dents pour un mono plateau de 44 dents pour aller plus vite sur la route plate ... Car j'imagine qu'avec ce mono plateau 30 dents tu es limité et tu dois toujours pédaler très vite ?
